Math
Students are practicing math facts or adding two numbers together with
answers up to 20. (Example: 4 + 6 = 10, 9 + 9 = 18) They are also practicing the
corresponding subtraction facts.
Students are practicing identifying coins. They are also practicing counting
combinations of coins up to 100 cents.
Students are practicing thinking through story problems and choosing an
efficient strategy. We are also practicing how to show and explain math
thinking.

Current Unit: We will start to study 6 major components of U.S. Geography.
Students will learn about the following places: Appalachian Mountains, Rocky
Mountains, Mississippi River, Rio Grande, James River, Great Lakes
Next Unit: We will study past lives of the Powhatan People, Lakota People, and
the Pueblo People.

English Literacy Lectura en ingles

Students have been working in reading groups to further their reading skills in
comprehension, accuracy and fluency.
In writing, students are practicing writing 5 sentences with proper
punctuation and capitalization.
In both reading and writing students will practice identifying and writing the
beginning, middle, and end of stories.
Los estudiantes han estado trabajando en grupos de lectura para mejorar

Spanish Literacy Lectura en espaol

Students spent time comparing and contrasting the Spanish and English
alphabet and the sounds the letters make in each language.
In writing, students worked together to create a class alphabet book.
Additionally, students have begun completing dictation exercises where
they listen to a sentence, write the sentence, and correct the sentences
grammar and spelling.
In both reading and writing students will practice identifying and writing
the beginning, middle, and end of stories.
