2. TECHNICAL DESCRIPTION OF THE PROJECT
DESCRIPTION OF THE PROJECT Evaluators Input:
The ownership of firearms in the Philippines is regulated by the Firearms and Explosives Division of the
Philippine National Police. In order to possess a firearm in the Philippines, a person must be at a minimum age
of 21 years and pass a background check to be issued a Possession License. Gun control (or firearms regulation)
is the set of laws or policies that regulate the manufacture, sale, transfer, possession, modification, or use of
firearms by civilians.

In this documentary, the risk of violence and accidents is very high when the wrong people have access guns.
Kids can get hold of a gun and accidentally shoot others or themselves out of curiosity. There are many
instances where people that own guns have shot someone accidentally thinking that theyre intruders. People
often commit suicide with guns. Its important that a gun be in the hands of someone responsible.

This documentary will feature the advantages and disadvantages of having guns. It will emphasize how
these gun ownership acts lead to one major cause of death.

To further enhance and support the information gathered, opinions from experts in this field will be
included. Mr. PINS Rolando Atienza, a PCP6 Commander in Firing Club of Tarlac will be interviewed regarding
the rules and regulations.

This documentary is interesting because it does not only tackle about how people can have access to
legal possession but also how to reduce cases of gun violence.
