Revenge and Forgiveness

It is Saturday night, Bill and his family are celebrating their sons birthday. Everybody seems to

be happy with bubbles and balloons drifted in the air aimlessly. In the corner of the room, there is

an unopened, stack of presents wrapped in shiny wrapping papers. A silk bow is tied around

every parcel. On the other hand, hungry children loomed in the overfilled food around the table.

Sandwiches are grabbed by the children as their mouths are filled with sweets. In the middle of

the table is the birthday cake covered in thick icing and it seems enormous decorated with tiny

roses, pink in color. In the center of the table are colored bowls with food. In a few minutes,

everyone is signaled to join in the cake cutting. Bill and Susans son is in the middle. Their son

collected his breath and blew eleven candles marking his eleventh birthday. Everyone claps as

they sing happy birthday songs. In a few minutes, people wearing masks enter the room carrying

heavy fire and start to command for money. Bill is knocked on the head as he falls. All the

children are forced to flee to the bedroom and the room is locked.

Please take whatever you want and leave us unharmed, Bill uttered

In a deep voice, the 1st man shouted shut up! he continuous Sit down now and dont try

anything stupid.

Bill is forced to sit in a chair and tied with his hand behind the chair. The men take his wife and

start to harass her sexually

Angrily, Bill shouts leave her alone you bastards! If you touch her, I will kill you all.

(Knocking bill on the head) shut up old man! 2nd man interrupts

tell us where the money is, and we will leave her alone 3rd man promises.

All the money is in the safe, get the money and leave her alone, Bill replies

After a moment of silence, Bill is loosed from the chair and forced to open the safe. They get all

the money. Tension is filled in the room as Bill, and his wife is trembling with fear.

(Directing a gun at bills head) tell us where the disk is now! The 1st man commands.

which discs are you talking about I dont understand. Bill continues you have the money,

leave my family alone.

(Directing a gun at Susans head) You have two minutes 2nd man threatens

1...2 3rd man counts

just stop I will show you where the disk is.(In a weak voice) Bill interrupts

where is it? the 1st man shouts.

In the bedroom, look at the second drawer, Bill replies.

Bill is an officer of law he had a lot of evidence of crimes committed in the city by great men

including his brother who runs drug cartels in the street.

lets get out of here before the police show up, the 1st man replies.

Before they walk out the other man shoots bills wife on the head, she falls dead.

what have you done? Bill yells

The gang starts running as they hear sirens at a distance.

the police are here let us go now! the 3rd man warns

Bill crying held his wife. He could not imagine that his wife had been killed. He was planning to

have a vacation to enjoy some moments with his family, and now his wife is no more. A day

goes, and Bill cannot get over his wifes death. He starts to plan revenge on his brother who he

thinks send the men to take the disc. He believes that his brother is the only person who knew he

had evidence against the citys criminals. Some few days after the incident, burial is organized.

George, Bills brother, is in attendance. After the funeral George comes to console to his brother.

my condolence brother, I know how it feels to lose someone, it must be hard for you, George

starts to speak.

We both know you are responsible for what happened! Bill replies. I love my wife, and she

is gone (Silence). He continuous Am going after everyone responsible for her death, I will

first kill those fools who invaded my home, and then I will be coming for you Bill threatens.

what are you insinuating? George asks.

I have evidence supporting you were involved, Bill replies

I killed one of the men you hired after interrogating him Bill replies. He continues He

exposed your involvement,

Listen to me man I dont know what you are talking about, George replies

(Holding George in his throat) you are lucky people are around. Bill threatens Just

remember I must have my revenge.

Bill releases him and walks away. He had resigned from the police and now what he wants is

revenge for the death of his wife. Bill is convinced beyond reasonable doubts that his brother

was connected to the murder. He has turned to a psychopath and wants to kill the other two

remaining men who were involved one by one. He discovers the 3rd guy who was involved,

that his real home name is David Owen. He invades his home unconsciously hits him and ties

him on a sit. He pours water on him in order to wake up.

(With a chuckle) look what we have here. He continues you remember me?

Owen: Sorry men, we were just following orders Owen defends himself. And besides am

not the person who killed your wife, he utters.

(Bill becomes emotional) I gave you the money and the disk as you requested and you still

killed my wife? He continues Do you know how that felt?

Am sorry, am not the one, Owen continuous Jimmy is the one who pulled the trigger.

(Pointing gun close to his head) I want to listen to you begging for your life Bill commands

listen men dont do this, I have money George continuous. You can have it all.

Well, its funny because I used the exact words and you still killed my wife Bill interrupts.

(Becomes emotional) go to hell man! Owen shouts.

(Loses control) No, you go to hell Bill replies as he pulls the trigger and shoots Owen

instantly.

Bill is troubled by the image of his wife. Sometimes he gets the nightmare of his wife wearing a

white dress covered with blood crying for vengeance. Bill does not get a wink of sleep. He gets

angry and breaks things in the house. The only place he gets peace is in the bar where he gets lots

of drinks until he sleeps. He becomes restless. He has managed to kill the gang responsible for

his wifes death yet he does not have peace. It only gets worse, and he thinks it is the time to go

after his brother and maybe he would get the peace he seeks and stop seeing his wifes image. He

starts making plans and sets off to kill his brother. After reaching his home, he silently breaks

into the house. A few minute, his brother arrives home in a car. Alight and walks towards the

house without realizing there is an intruder in the house. After opening the door, he is knocked

down and falls unconscious. When he awakes, he finds himself in front of his brother tied in a

chair.

what is this Bill? George asks what are you doing?

(Interrupting) I told you I would come for you and your final time is here. He continues Do

you have any last prayers or something?

George: brother, I know sending those men to you was wrong. George interrupts Ever since

it haunts me, I told the men to get the disc alone, and they should not hurt anyone. he continues

I wanted to kill the men myself after they murdered Susan, but that would not make me better

than them. She was a good person, and I liked her.

(Shouting) shut up! You are just trying to get into my mind Bill interrupts.

George: if killing me now will pay for the mistakes I have done, go ahead and shoot me now

and dont hesitate George continues Come on! Kill me!

(With a gun on Georges head, he hesitates) I cant do it! bill replies

George: its never too late brother, you have gotten your hands dirty by killing those men you

should have informed the police. George articulates

they killed my wife, they murdered Susan Bill responds

I know that and am so sorry brother, but I have you now, you are the only family I have. He

George continues, Remember what father used to tell us?

he used to tell us to take care of each other Bill replies.

you are not alone, I will take care of you brother, just me and you like old times George

promises

every night I go to sleep I see her in my dreams; I thought killing those men will give me

peace Bill speaks his mind out.

I understand brother; I will help you get through this, George promises.

(Bill sighs)

I have been planning to walk away from the drug business and start a new life just me, you and

your son. George continues everything is going to be alright.

Bill unties his brother as they hug and the conflict between the two ends. They decide to live

together outside Mexico in New York. Bill gets his job back as well as the disc and surrenders it

to the high court judge. Due to the evidence in the disc, all the criminals were charged in court

including George who receives a one year jail. His term is reduced due to his cooperation.
