Greetings,
My name is Carlee Wika, and I am a senior at Northern State University. I am an Elementary and
Special Education major with a minor in reading. I am also receiving endorsements in Early
Childhood Education.
Recently, I have graciously been invited into your childs classroom to participate as a teacher
candidate for my fall, 2017, Student Teaching Experience. With this experience, I will be
initially entering Mrs. Grahams classroom to observe and get to know her students as well as
learn her classroom setting/routines. After observation, I will gradually come into the role of the
teacher setting throughout this experience.
As I gradually enter into the role teaching, I will receive the opportunity to learn, grow, and
practice as an educator. One way I will be able to do this is by teaching lessons to the class.
These lessons will be personally selected and will be carefully planned, practiced, and provided
for students to learn the content in the most effective way.
During this experience, I hope to be able to impact each child by teaching them content that is
new and exciting. I also hope to grow as a future educator by observing and interacting with your
child(ren). My goals for this experience are to be able to grow as an educator by observing the
class, getting to know the students, and implementing fun and effective lesson plans promptly.
I cannot wait to begin my experience. I am very appreciative of the opportunity to participate
with your child(ren), and to grow as an educator/individual. What I learn from this experience
will help me learn and to carry on as a future educator to one day teach in my classroom.
