To Whom It May Concern,

I am pleased to recommend Ms. Rebecca Hitchcock to you for employment in your facility. I
served as Ms. Hitchcocks clinical instructor for the course titled Acute and Chronic Illness
Management II in the baccalaureate-nursing program at the University of Arizona, College of
Nursing. She completed her clinical practicum in the Medical Surgical unit and Critical Care
Units at St. Josephs Hospital in Tucson, Arizona. Clinical skills focus on tracheostomy care,
suctioning, assisting with ventilator management, IV therapy, titration of vasoactive medications,
management of chest tubes, placement and management of nasogastric/enteric feeding, and may
other acute care nursing skills. Both her academic and clinical performance were excellent. She
demonstrated advanced critical thinking skills in the application of pathophysiology and medical
surgical concepts into the care of critically ill patients. She also was able to apply and integrate
theory into practice enhancing both her confidence and comfort in providing care.

I have found her to be an outstanding student that will make significant contributions to the
nursing profession. She is intelligent, accountable student who is willing to work hard to meet
her goals. Ms. Hitchcock consistently sought out opportunities to learn and worked diligently to
improve her skills. She eagerly accepts challenging situations, is hardworking, and self-directed.
Her preceptor evaluations were outstanding and all the staff enjoyed working with Ms. Hitchcock
very much. I highly recommend Ms. Hitchcock for employment as a nurse in her area of interest
as I believe she will be an asset to the profession and your organization.

Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have questions regarding her qualifications.

Sincerely,

Kathleen Olivarez, RN, MSN, RN-C
