University Consultant Comments:

It is with pleasure that I write a final report of Jade Oldfields successful Professional Semester III internship at Barnwell
School.

In her practice, Ms. Oldfield demonstrated all of the qualities of an effective teacher and learner. Her planning was organized,
effective, and translated curriculum into meaningful learning opportunities for students. She used summative and formative
assessment practices to further student learning. Her classroom management was rooted in a mutual respect and trust. In
short, she is clearly a competent professional.

In teaching Grades 6, 8, and 9 English Language Arts (ELA), Ms. Oldfield not only demonstrated a sound understanding of
the content, but also wove her Professional Inquiry Project (PIP) research into her classroom practice. Her work and reflection
around differentiation and engagement in this research manifested itself in rich learning opportunities for her students.

In fact, a commitment to creating rich lessons characterizes Ms. Oldfields ethos as an educator. In my final observation, I
watched Ms. Oldfield deliver an exemplary lesson oriented around digital literacy. She deftly wove together segments on video
editing and how to identify propaganda, particularly on the internet. She did so using varied media, including editing software,
radio interviews, and written transcripts which she highlighted on her SmartBoard. What was most impressive was the fact
that she utilized various media and technology with purpose and intent, all in service of a rich dialogue with her students.

I am confident Ms. Oldfield will have a long and rewarding career in education and wish her all the best.

I have read the complete Final Report and certify that the assigned grade is:
