Online Activity
This class would be a asynchronous course in which assignments
are due on Sunday night of each week. Students may go faster if
they wish as all assignments and videos will be made available at
the beginning of the semester, excluding exams. This week there
will be discussion around our rights and responsibilities
regarding voting. As well as what issues are important to them.

Students will log on to icivics.org with their account information,


which they should have made earlier in the semester. Here they
will spend about 20 minutes going through the simulation. This
includes asking the candidates 5 questions, rating the
importance, and finally voting. After voting students will select
which comment influenced them the most and receive a
certificate.
After students complete this simulation, the students will write
a brief 250-500 word essay reflecting on which candidate they

picked and why. Students should include why it is important to


be an informed voter and what issues were most important to
them.
