Understanding Before Its Too Late (Rough Draft)

The World Wildlife Fund is an organization dedicated to preserving nature and

humanitarian aid. They work with about 100 countries and with more than four million members

across the world. They are behind some of the most thought provoking advertisements about

environmental conservation, making people think about the negative affects we have on the

environment. The World Wildlife Funds advertisement, Before Its Too Late (Figure 1)

effectively conveys its goal of associating deforestation to destroying our lungs with the use of

symbolism, pathos, and the message shown.

The use of symbolism ultimately conveys the message. In the picture, the forest is made

to look like lungs as oxygen comes from trees.
