PKPU's performance as a humanitarian agency was clearly marked through its active participation side by side with international NGOs from alll over the world interventing in disaster relief and development program in major disaster events including the great earthquake and tsunami in Aceh, Yogyakarta, Pakistan, and more. As an active organisation in responding to humanitarian issues therefore needs to standardize our work and develop our programs has driven us to set forth and go further towards an international setting. On 21 July 2008, PKPU is accepted as an NGO in Special Consultative Status with the Economic and Social Council of the United Nations, which demands high accountable humanitarian performance from its members. UN-Registered ‘The National Zakah Management Instituti Empowering the community to handle disaster risks is an effort to create self-reliant community in dealing with disaster in disaster- risk area. The community is directly involved and responsible for the program from planning to execution Active participation is expected to reduce the susceptibility and to strengthen the community's capacity in independently dealing with disaster risks. This also decreases the dependency towards external parties. PKPU presents this program in order to transfer the promptness to deal with disaster from the rescue team to the community of the disaster-risk area. This should allow quick- responses and minimize the impactof the disaster. (Our Emergency Response Programs have intervened for mitigation and evacuation of victims in disasters throughout the country and overseas. From flash floods of Bahorok, Pidie in Sumatra, Donggala, Sinjai, Kalaka, Morowali in Sulawesi, Karanganyar, Bojonegoro, Jakarta in Java, starvation in Yahokimo of Papua, West Nusa Tenggara, Earthquake in Aceh, Yogyakarta, Bengkulu, Nias, Padang, Tasikmalaya, Volcanic Eruption in East Java, Maluku, Tsunami in Aceh and Pangandaran, Flods in Jakarta, Bengkulu, East Java and so many other regionsin the country. Se In rehabilitation and recovery stage, the construction of temporary school, temporary house, shelter home and permanent school have been implemented as well Budarzi (Nutrition Awareness for Mothers) Budarzi is a nutrition improvement program directed towards a community with attention given ‘to the maintenance and improvement of the nutrition on children below five years old, increasing community awareness, especially for mothers, to implement the standards of nutrition and health in preparing meals forthe family, especially children below five-years old. This program also aims at facilitating and assisting, as well as optimizing local potentials in order ‘o inerease and improve the community nutrition status. We have implemented this program in Aceh, Jakarta, Klaten. Clean Water Supply PKPU cooporates with donorsin conducting clean water supply and sanitation facilities program at Musi Banyuasin regency and Musi Rawas regency, South Sumatera. The location of the program covers Lubuk Bintialo village, Sanga district, and Air Bening village, Rawaslir district. Hes) PROSMILING TERPADU Mobile Community Health Program This integrated health program is a mobile health service conducted in integration (several health programs in one package) and is presented in popular packages. The program is disseminated free-of-charge for the disadvantaged community whose residence is distant from any health service center. Some of the programs implemented are general treatment (doctor consultation and medicine provision), Ultra sonography check-up for pregnant women, fogging services. Ez GREEN COMMUNITY PROGRAM Green community is a community empowerment program whose orientation is towards changing the community behavior in creating healthy lifestyle and environment and improving the condition of the surrounding environment. It is targeted on disadvantaged community in a poor area that requires attention in terms of counseling on healthy environment. A micro-economic empowerment program through small groups. The targeted community is the small-scale farmers, breeders, handcrafters, sellers, motorcycle taxi driver, and fishermen. These people are grouped into self-empowered groups to be given routine trainings and counseling. These groups are then combined into a cooperation which is run and managed by the members It has been implemented in Jakarta, Semarang, Bandung, Gorowong, Yogyakarta, Surabaya, Bojonegoro, Lumajang, Padang, Bengkulu, Makassar, and Palu. y i me aig LEARNING CENTER ‘An alternative education program which provides training of skills for specific vocational expertise. Community-Potential-Based Education Program ‘An education program based on local intelligence and potential. Itis conducted as a complement to the current formal education that can create students who are motivated, knowledgeable, and skillful to develop their community. The program cover school renovation, national teacher training, community based school, scholarship for future generation, and library for village Teacher Allowance Program The provision of additional allowance for honorarium teachers in remote areas. The program aims Islamic boarding school teachers and those who present high dedication to enhance the nation's education development. PEDULL Foster Parent Program The objective is to locate foster parents which would promote prestigious children from poor background in Indonesia sustainably. Orphan's ShoppingVoucher Shopping Voucher Program allows orphan children from very poor background to fulfill their need of celebrating the Eid al Fitr and the Hijr New Year with their own choice of required needs. Orphan’‘s EducationVoucher Education voucher Program allows orphan to shop for their choices of required educational requirements from pensand pencil to courses’ textbooks. Orphanage Orphanage program in Aceh sponsored by donors was established on February 2005, two months after the Tsunami struck Aceh. There are five orphanages spread in some sub districts at Aceh Besar and West Aceh, among others, at Sub Districts of Ingin Jaya, Darussalam, Darul Imarah, and Johan Pahtawan. More than 220 boy and girl orphans living in the orphanages have been educated with formal education as well as extracurricular programs, such as joining sport club, dancing club, writing club, cooking club, drama club, etc, which arein accordance with their hobbies and interests They are also strengthened with good moral values by habituating togetherness and sharing with others. Orphan's Tour Program Tour Program for Orphans is a program to make the orphans happy by taking them to the recreation areas, where they are able to learn about nature, kinds of plant, kinds of animal and thank God for the beautiful nature that God creates, while they are in the midst of having fun. Besides, during enjoying the program, they will be trained with life skill and moral values 9 Indonesia Village Care (IVC) Establishing self-sufficiency in the village community through an integrated community empowerment program, including education, health, and economy program. The aims are to improve the life quality of the community by optimizing their local resources, to implement clean healthy lifestye, to allow wider access and opportunities for school-age children and to create community with independent way of thinking. ExonMobi Mobil Cepu Ltd. Budarzi is a program to improve the community health quality by focusing ‘on the maintennance and improvement of children under five nutritional status, advancing mothers! knowledge on nutrition and health issues and empowerment of local cadres. There has been 12 Nutrition House Program distributed in 3 districts, and 4 villages in Aceh. Each Nutrition Houses established equipped with 2 to 3 cadres which facilitate nutrition maintenance for 25 families. Mobil Cepu Ltd. Committed to assisting the people of Bojonegoro and its surrounding flood affected areas. The affected communities in Bojonegoro and Blora, victims to the flood disaster, have benefitted from this aid program and experienced the benefit of Mobil Cepu Ltd. Existence in the region. In PT. indosat's CSR thematic program "Healthy Indonesia”, PKPU colabarated and launched “INDOSAT MOBILE CLINIC” with the objective to provide easy access to quality health services for poor communities. The program comprise of the following: a.General Treatment (Doctor consultation and medicine provision) b.Children under five nutritional services (weight measuring, Nutritional Status observation and Supplementry Food Provision) c.Ultra Sonography check up for pregnant women, d.Fogging services. e.Mass Circumcission Implementation location: 1. The Jakarta basecamp for services within the Jakarta Greater Area. 2.The Northern Sumatra basecamp for services within the West Sumatra and Riau Provinces. 3.The Southern Sumatra basecamp for services within the Bengkulu and Palembang Provinces. 4.The North Sumatra basecamp for services within the North Sumatra and NAD Provinces. 5.The East Java basecamp for services within the Central Java, East Java, and Bali Provinces. The total beneficiaries for this program is at 80.429 per year. The Telkomsel Gerai Siaga Program implemented in 5 cities, namely, Padang of West Sumatra, Depok of West Java, Semarang of Central Java, Surabaya of East Java, and Maluku. The Telkomsel Gerai Siaga provides an integrated program including economic empowerment program, health services, alternative education program, and Nutritional services for Children under five. Telkomsel — NetApp Flood Response Post established at 4 flood prone areas in Jakarta. The program increases capacity of local community in disaster risk management by recruiting and forming Flood relief volunteers. In addition, the program alsa prepares the community by facilitating disaster management equipments with evacuation pathways. Since the mobile community health service launched in May 2008, until January 2009 there are more than 20.522 people who has experienced the benefit of the health service. Until today the mobile community health service provided by Indonesia Power is operating in 4 areas including Bandung, Garut and Sukabumi of West Java Province, and Cilegon of Banten Province. The mobile community health service is design in such away that equipped itself with medical and health diagnostic and treatment items such as, medicines, stretcher, wash bin, and a 20 liter water container. Sari Husada and PKPU has made a breakthrough with a program called SAGITA (Sadar Gizi bu dan Balita) which intregates the effort on improving children's nutrition and health. This SAGITA PKPU program provides activities to improve nutrition status of children and it has been trying to recover the nutrition status of malnourished children. It comes in the form of supplying nutritious food and the food source should be the ones that are accessible by the targeted community. The ideals of resolving nutrition problem held by LKN-PKPU and PT. Sari Husada in this SAGITA program has to go through facilitation and community empowering patterns. The result is, even though the program conducted in langer sequence, it still provides the comprehensive and sustainable solutions the program required. One of the processes in the program is to provide an increase of capacity to the local cadres in order to have the qualified competence in developing their community's nutrition awareness. Advancement of knowledge, skill, and attitude on basic nutrition and health are main capacity obtain from the SAGITA cadres Basic Training.
