Relationship Between The Angels of Revelation 10:1-3 And 14:6-7

What is the relationship that is sustained between these two angels, are they the same? My aim in this
essay is to prove conclusively that they are using the Bible and Spirit of Prophecy quotes to sustain this
argument.

Revelation 14:6-7
And I saw another angel fly in the midst of heaven, having the everlasting gospel to preach unto them that
dwell on the earth, and to every nation, and kindred, and tongue, and people, Saying with a loud voice,
Fear God, and give glory to him; for the hour of his judgment is come: and worship him that made
heaven, and earth, and the sea, and the fountains of waters.

Revelation 10:1-3

And I saw another mighty angel come down from heaven, clothed with a cloud: and a rainbow was upon
his head, and his face was as it were the sun, and his feet as pillars of fire: And he had in his hand a little
book open: and he set his right foot upon the sea, and his left foot on the earth, And cried with a loud
voice, as when a lion roareth: and when he had cried, seven thunders uttered their voices.

And I heard, but I understood not: then said I, O my Lord, what shall be the end of these things? And He
said, Go thy way, Daniel: for the words are closed up and sealed till the time of the end. Many shall
be purified, and made white, and tried; but the wicked shall do wickedly: and none of the wicked shall
understand; but the wise shall understand.But go thou thy way till the end be: for thou shalt rest, and
stand in thy lot at the end of the days. TM 115.1

It was the Lion of the tribe of Judah who unsealed the book and gave to John the revelation of what
should be in these last days. TM 115.2

Daniel stood in his lot to bear his testimony which was sealed until the time of the end, when the
first angel's message should be proclaimed to our world. These matters are of infinite importance in
these last days; but while many shall be purified, and made white, and tried, the wicked shall do
wickedly: and none of the wicked shall understand. How true this is! Sin is the transgression of the law
of God; and those who will not accept the light in regard to the law of God will not understand the
proclamation of the first, second, and third angel's messages. The book of Daniel is unsealed in the
revelation to John, and carries us forward to the last scenes of this earth's history. TM 115.3

From TM 115.2 we see the Servant of the Lord showing that it is the Lion of the Tribe of Judah that
unsealed to John the book, from paragraph three, she identifies the book that was unsealed as the book of
Daniel at the time of the end when the first Angels message was to be proclaimed to the world. Here a
correlation is made between Revelation 10:1-3 where the angel had an open book presenting it to John
and also it is seen that this book was the portion of the book of Daniel that had been sealed until the Time
of The End.

The natural question would then be who is John representing in the above passage? The answer to this
question is furnished in the quote below

To William Miller and his colaborers it was given to preach the warning in America. This country
became the center of the great advent movement. It was here that the prophecy of the first angel's
message had its most direct fulfillment. The writings of Miller and his associates were carried to distant
lands. Wherever missionaries had penetrated in all the world, were sent the glad tidings of Christ's speedy
return. Far and wide spread the message of the everlasting gospel: Fear God, and give glory to Him; for
the hour of His judgment is come. GC 368.1
Here William Miller and his associates are identified as the messengers of the First Angel.

The message of Revelation 14, proclaiming that the hour of God's judgment is come, is given in the time
of the end; and the angel of Revelation 10 is represented as having one foot on the sea and one foot on the
land, showing that the message will be carried to distant lands, the ocean will be crossed, and the islands
of the sea will hear the proclamation of the last message of warning to our world. 2SM 107.3

In the year 1840 another remarkable fulfillment of prophecy excited widespread interest. Two years
before, Josiah Litch, one of the leading ministers preaching the second advent, published an exposition of
Revelation 9, predicting the fall of the Ottoman Empire. According to his calculations, this power was to
be overthrown in A.D. 1840, sometime in the month of August; and only a few days previous to its
accomplishment he wrote: Allowing the first period, 150 years, to have been exactly fulfilled before
Deacozes ascended the throne by permission of the Turks, and that the 391 years, fifteen days,
commenced at the close of the first period, it will end on the 11th of August, 1840, when the Ottoman
power in Constantinople may be expected to be broken. And this, I believe, will be found to be the
case.Josiah Litch, in Signs of the Times, and Expositor of Prophecy, August 1, 1840. GC 334.4

At the very time specified, Turkey, through her ambassadors, accepted the protection of the allied powers
of Europe, and thus placed herself under the control of Christian nations. The event exactly fulfilled the
prediction. (See Appendix.) When it became known, multitudes were convinced of the correctness of the
principles of prophetic interpretation adopted by Miller and his associates, and a wonderful impetus was
given to the advent movement. Men of learning and position united with Miller, both in preaching and in
publishing his views, and from 1840 to 1844 the work rapidly extended. GC 335.1

2SM 107.3 ties these two passages of scripture nicely for us it shows that the message of Revelation 10
denotes the widespread message of the first angel. Great Controversy tells us the fulfillment of this in the
year 1840 where the First angels message was empowered and was taken to every missionary station in
the world.

From these passages of Spirit of Prophecy quotes it is clear and conclusive the relations that these two
passages sustain to each other, it is also clear that William Miller and his associates were the messengers
of the first angel and also by their work this same message was empowered.
