Supplies: + Paper + Pencil Procedure: Review the names and shapes of simple shapes with the class. . Go through the book ‘Shapes, Shapes, Shapes’ by Tana Hoban and encourage the students to call out the names of the shapes that they see in the pictures, . Choose four or five shapes that you would like the students to look for and draw them, ‘on the board. |. Ask the students to go around the classroom looking for objectsin those shapes. Have ‘them draw the objects on a piece of paper. ‘You can do this as an individual activity with each child looking for objects of each shape, or as a group activity with each group looking for one particular shape. . Once the students are done, have them compare their shapes with the others. Have the students work ona shape worksheet for additionel practice and to check their understanding of shapes.
