Brief instructions The teacher creates an account by signing up. Its a free and only takes
of how to use the seconds to sign on with your email, Google account or Facebook. The
tool only thing is requires is to make sure your email address is correct and
that you specify that you are a teacher. Teacher can save time by finding
study sets that have already been created by other teachers and
learners on Quizlet. Teachers can even adapt the sets they find and save
as their own.

To find existing sets on your subject or topic you simply click search
at the top of any Quizlet page and enter keywords. A little hint the
more specific you are in your topic the better chances you have on
finding your subject or topic.

Teachers can easily create study sets for their students with their own
material. Just enter or import terms and definitions, add images, choose
languages and edit your sets. You can access and edit them at any time.
How to get started on your study set is to select create in the same
indigo header.

Teachers also have an option to select Quizlet Live, which is a game for
to student to play or review their material. It is a fun, collaborative game
that can get every student you have involved. To set up a game just
choose the Live Button from the options on the set page. It will then
generate a unique code that your students can enter on their laptops,
devices or phones to join the game.

Teachers can also create a class to organize their sets. Quizlet classes
helps teachers organize their sets and gets the right content to the right
group of students. To create a class select Create a class on the left
sidebar. Enter your class name and school to create and then add your
sets you like your students to study.

Quizlet allows teachers to invite their students to their class. Teachers

just need to ask their students to go to Quizlet.com and sign up for free
accounts. There are a few ways a student can join a class.. 1) Share a
join link. 2) Have students search for your username
If they choose to use the first way: go to your class page and fine the
class join link. If students chose the second choice have them go to
Quizlet.com and search for your username and once on your profile they
can click into your Classes tab to find your classes you have created,
then just click on the class you need and request to join class button. If a
student chose the second option then teachers will receive an email
notify them that someone has requested to join the class.

in PK-12 It is a great choice of learning, its a fun and simple tool that can
be used in and out of the classroom, on your own or with a friend,
and on the go with your phone by using the free download app.

Students can use Quizlet to practice flashcards and study guides

in an active and fun environment.
Students will demonstrate better in spelling, better and quicker in
understanding articles and agreements of gender and numbers,
better in understanding verb conjugations and subject pronouns.
They will identify images quicker and students will build their
confidence levels quicker, they will retention a subject longer.

Quizlet provides students with more opportunities to study,

review and retain material at home and gives them a better
opportunity to increase their test and quiz scores.

For Kindergarten you could use Quizlet by the use of flashcards

and turn on the audio so the student can hear the word and
practice the spelling of a word or how to pronounce a word.

Positives and Quizlet is fairly easy to use, and have steps for you to follow along the
challenges of way. Creating a class on Quizlet can help teachers organize their sets
using the tool and make sure the content get to the right group of students. Teachers
can track their students progress and make sure they are receiving the
right content for them to review or study.

Quizlet is a great tool for studying and reviewing for students. It provides
a free study tool teachers and students and learners of all ages.

Brief instructions The teacher creates an account. A free account allows one board and up
of how to use the 2 people as collaborators. This would be sufficient if being used within
tool the classroom on an open computer for students use. All students could
login under one login while the teacher holds the login for the original
collaborator.

For a $6/month subscription fee you can get Team access which allows
unlimited boards to be created and up to 10 collaborators. In order to
accommodate all students with a login you can assign them to a group
and have group login information where students share a login.

The Business level is an $18/month subscription fee but allows unlimited

boards to be created with unlimited collaborators. This would allow each
student their own login information and would probably be best on a
middle and high school level.

After signing up and logging in the teacher creates a virtual corkboard

that utilizes digital post it notes. The program is rather simple in nature
and structure. You click anywhere on the board to create a note and then
type text onto the post it note or add an image or document file. The
program does have a chat feature where collaborators may talk while
brainstorming notes.

The background can be changed or you can upload a custom

background. There are varying permission settings for the board; it can
be kept private with only team access, password protected, or open to
the public. You can choose which features can be accessed by other
users such as turning off editing access or the ability to delete items.
The board settings also makes it easy to copy and paste a public url or
embed code for your board to be shared with and accessed by others.

in PK-12 In a preschool setting a teacher could use the free version as a means
for students to sign in each morning and beginning letter recognition and
spelling/writing skills. The teacher would leave a computer open with the
corkboard app up. As students arrive to class they will click a spot on the
cork board to create a new post it note and type their name on the post
it note. This provides students the opportunity to learn and use
technology at a remedial level while working on letter and name
recognition. They will not only learn how to spell their own names but
also beginning recognizing the names of other students.

Lower elementary grades could use the same process of an open

computer where students sign in. The teacher could use it for word
family sorts by creating an already made board with 2 post it note
headers signifying 1 column for each word family. Readymade note will
have one word typed on it such as Cat, Cap, Hat , Map, etc. The
student will move the notes into the proper column thus sorting the
words into the appropriate word family.

The corkboard app can be used for most any grade level, even up to
high school as a kindness board to encourage positive peer influence
and social skills as well as building on vocabulary and writing skills. Each
week a star students name can be posted on the cork board. Students
will sign in and add one kind note about the star student. Students will
be rotated to give each student a spot on the board. Rules and strict
guidelines on appropriate comments being made on the board should be
given prior to use. Kind notes can be as simple as Bobby always wears
cool shoes or Hailey helped me understand a math problem. The
purpose of the activity to is to help boost classroom morale, find one
good thing in each classmate even those that struggle with social skills
and making friends who are not readily popular among their peers, as
well as work on writing skills. Notes must be written in full sentences
with proper and correct spelling (no text language). At the end of the
week all notes will be read with a snapshot of the board printed for the
star student to keep and reflect upon in days to come.

Assignment
Another activity for 4th grade 12th grade would be group story telling. A
writing prompt will be posted by the teacher and each student will add a
note of 1 -5 sentences to keep the story going. Each student must 1st
read what the others have written in order to add to the story. At the end
of the week the story will be read aloud as a class. The purpose of the
activity is to expand on writing skills, creativity, imagination, vocabulary,
and reading skills.

For middle and high school students the cork board app could be used to
upload an assignment or reading activity. The students can then post
questions for help with the assignment and receive feedback and
assistance from their peers or make comments on a passage reading. If
uploading a passage reading also provide prompts for thought and
posting. i.e. The teacher posts a reading passage, Edgar Allen Poes The
Raven along with prompts such as Why do you think the Raven kept
repeating Nevermore? What is your interpretation of the story?

Positives and Note App is fairly easy to use, a child in kindergarten could use this tool
challenges of with relative ease. Set up is easy and the monthly cost is very
using the tool affordable. The challenges of using this tool is that if you wanted to use
an image prompt (i.e. posting a picture of a polar bear and having 1st
graders post describing words when teaching a lesson on adjectives)
they would have to click on the link to view the image, it does not
automatically fill the note space with the image for easy viewing. You are
unable to change the font size, color, style which can be rather mundane
in creativity. To add student users they will need to be emailed a link to
access the corkboard therefore they will need an email address, this is
not a problem for high school students since many high schools today
are issuing student Gmail accounts for school use; however, for younger
grades this may pose a problem. To bypass the email issue the teacher
could have one computer the tool open and students take turns
accessing the cork board on one computer to add notes or create an
email solely for the purpose of students logging in while in class.

Brief instructions The teacher signs up for free on www.edublogs.org and creates a blog
of how to use the for their students to access. Students must create an account which
tool requires an email address, which can be their own or their parents. The
teacher can then create a class where students can be added and are
then able to comment on the posts. The student can also create their
own blog within the class blog, where the teacher is also able to
moderate. Blogs can be posted that pertain to the subject matter,
including videos, links and images. The blog can be set up with easy to
navigate tabs and categories so students can find what subject they are
looking for. Comments can be enabled so that the students can interact
with other students in the class or to be able to ask the teacher any
questions on assignments or the material that is posted.
