Bruce,

During this course, I have improved my writing using the book and class activities. I have learned
whether passive or active is appropriate for the writing style. I have also learned how to make my paper
visually attractive using different fonts, white space, and headings. Most importantly, I have learned
how to tailor my writing to satisfy what the reader is looking for. I have improved on my SLO using your
guidance and the guidance of my peers.

The first major assignment I worked on had a majority of the SLOs. My resume covers rhetorical
focus (SLO 1), persuasion (SLO 3), organization (SLO 4), Language and design (SLO 5), and collaboration
(SLO 6). The rhetorical focus shows that I can write formally and to the audience I want. My persuasion
shows that I am suitable for the research manager. I made sure that the work experience and skills was
emphasized to show off my capabilities. I made sure my resume was visually attractive by using
consistent spacing and headings. I made my language and design simple so that the reader can
understand why I am suitable for the position. Lastly, there was feedback from Val and Ben. There was a
collaboration between the three of us to improve my resume.

The group charter was the first SLO 6 that we worked on as a group. It covers SLO 1, ethical
citations (SLO 2), SLO 4, SLO 5, and SLO 6. Our intended audience was written on the top and we stated
the purpose in the first paragraph. We had two different sources in our charter and used the correct
APA in text citations. I understand that citations should be used in paragraph form, but our group
decided to use our citations in bullet points to keep it simple. We used the SLO 4 to organize our charter
by placing subheadings. The reader will now what the paragraph is about and will be able to locate the
information that they are looking for. For SLO 5, the language that we used shows that the charter is our
rule book.

I was able to improve on my work by using feedback from my peers and suggestions from Dr.
Bruce. I was able to improve on organization and intended audience in ENG 360.
