6) Pencil
7) Glue

Assessments

Formal assessment: students will go on quiziz.com for their exit ticket.

Informal assessment: I will be walking around the classroom during the buddy time to see if
students are understanding.

Informal assessment: when students are displaying their answers to the word problems I will be
assessing to see if they understood the material.

Anticipatory Set

I will display a number on the board, and I will have the students write out an HTO chart. Using
their manipulatives students will have to display the number correctly.

Instructional Model

I will first do a word problem with them (This type of word problem will be on their test)

Students will take out their math notebook and glue the word problem that will be handed out to
them.

I will do a gradual release of instruction, by having me model the first part with them, but then I
will have them write out the expanded form and the word form on their own.

After they have finished the word problem I will have a couple of students come up and show us
their work.
Once we have finished the word problem we will go to our Go Math book and turn to page 82.

I will model the first question and then have them work in groups on the last 2 problems.

Guided practice

I will do the first part of the word problem, and help them organize the rest of the word
problem.

I will do problem #1 on page 82.

Independent Practice

Students will log on to quiziz.com to take their exit ticket.

It is an online game for students but it is a summative assessment for me.

Differentiation Strategies

For my struggling students and ELLs I will be working with them individually throughout the
lesson. If throughout the lesson I see that they are struggling I will pull a small group while the
rest of the class working with a buddy.
