Lesson Overview

Students will obtain an understanding of conflict in many elements of


life using visual culture, historical events, and expressive art. They will
create self identified marionette puppets utilizing the given materials
and instructions.

Conflict: a serious disagreement or argument, typically a protracted
one.

Resolution: a resolve, a decision or determination
Marionette: A puppet manipulated from above by strings attached to
its jointed limbs
Movement: Use of lines, shapes, colors, etc. to direct the eye of the
viewer from one part of the design or picture.
