INTRODUCTION

Cities in Metro Manila have been the center of economic growth in the country. People
from different places outside Metro Manila, choose to work or study in the National Capital Region,
mainly because they think that there is more opportunity in the capital cities, than in the provinces.
Due to the work demand in Metro Manila, one of the main problems that result from the cities
work demand, is the increasing volume of traffic around Metro Manila and the towns and cities
near the National Capital Region. Traffic congestion takes up too much of peoples time, effort,
and resources. Therefore, the government is always finding out new ways on how to address this
problem, constructing and providing more alternative modes of transportation infrastructures as
a long-term solution.
