How does CCSD Technology Education Standards, Nevada Performance Indicators, and
levels? AND How recommended levels of sophistication between technology instruction at the
Educational Technology Standards impacts instruction across different grade levels by what type
of technology is being introduced into each grade level. Instruction is also impacted by the
different grade levels by how technology is fused with the lesson plans. Lesson plans are set in
place based on the curriculum and standards a teacher is given to teach. Technology is not meant
to take away from those lessons, but enhance them and grab the students' attention and help
make them want to learn. Teachers need to choose technology based on the grade level they are
teaching and what special circumstances may be at hand with their students (i.e. learning
disabilities, physical disabilities, exceptional needs, etc.). Younger grade level students will not
grasp how to use certain technologies that say middle and high school level students are using.
Elementary school students will most likely do best with tablets/computers, Ebooks,
smartboards, and TVs. On the flipside middle and high school students will start to dive deeper
into more technology software such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Middle school
students will use more programs such as Prezi and be able to navigate through cloud storage.
High school students will use all mentioned plus the use of social networking which is more of
an "adult" feature than it is for children in the elementary and middle school levels. High school
students will also be using Elmos for presentations and have the knowledge to add more details
into a PowerPoint presentation such as focusing on the animations and transitions of their
