The Undersigned Merchants and Bankers of the City of London on the Subject of the Corn

Laws declared that the practical rule of leaving commerce unfettered applies more efficiently
on corn trade than any other trades. This had been proven and confirmed by the general
reasoning how injustice and impolicy laws for protections, especially Corn Laws, are through
varies experiences.

These laws made a great negative impact on the international relations such as retaliatory
tariffs on the part of foreign countries or weakening the bonds of friendly intercourse and
reciprocal benefits. Thus, the general benefit to mankind from free trade followed by the
growing of material products will slowly diminish and may instead bring a constant system of
further restrictions, that leads to an increased danger of warlike collision and more
immoralities to the society. These then cause more unfortunate consequences that can even
more proof the inefficiency and unsoundness of those laws.

The laws that severely impedes on the import of foreign corns, that of which is crucial to the
prosperity of the general populace, is caused by its people's poor harvest that in turn greatly
magnifies the consequences of events that contributes towards the decline of said harvest,
thereby creating a form of feedback loop.

Therefore, they have declared the absolute necessity in the complete removal of these
restrictions imposed by the Legislature, for it was argued that the importance of the dependency
the populace has on these products is too great, that of which extends its influence towards the
harmony of the people.
