Introduction

This website is a journey back to early America. It starts with the American Indians who

occupied this land in the Pre-Columbian era. Then we have the very first settlers of English

origin in 1607. We progress to an influx of more settlers and the high volume of slave trade over

the next 150 years. After settlers settle-in so to speak there is an emergence of ideas of

independence and autonomy from European strongholds. Next we see the growth of the new

United States of America after the American Revolution. Finally a reflection is given on how all

these pieces are linked with our current status as a nation.
