Lesson idea implementation: The teacher will read several books about American symbols. The teacher will
have students watch a video explaining the symbols. The students will break into groups of 4 and rotate
working along with the teacher to support them in creating. Together they will create a PowerPoint movie
with the American symbols. The teacher will upload them to their website so parents can see their products.

They will present their videos to the teacher and explain what they learned. They will be able to develop a
project that explains what they had learned in this lesson. The teacher will have a checklist to make sure that
the students explained each symbol. The project will take about a week to complete. For an extension the
students could present to other classes.
