Dear Mr. Alburger,

My topic is Entrepreneurship and running a small business. I want to do my pride project on this
topic because I feel like it would be fun to manage and run your own business and be completely
in charge. There should be enough information regarding this topic, allowing me to write and
form a well put together project. I hope to gain better knowledge of running a business and what
it takes to do so. I have found a many books and other articles that include information on how to
get a business up and running.

This paper would be structured from a detailed checklist that contains necessary steps to run a
business. This would also add ideas on different topics to discuss in my paper. My paper would
include a detailed explanation on the legal, financial, and common perspectives of running a
business. I hope to learn a lot about this career and decide if this career suits me. This paper
would definitely change my perspective on what goes behind-the-scenes to all businesses.

My mentor I hope to shadow is a family friend and my boss Scott Parkin. He owns a business
called i9Sports which is an organization that teaches youth fundamental sports skills. The sports
included are football, basketball, tea ball, and soccer. During my hours with my mentor I hope to
gain knowledge on what he has to do to effectively run his organization and the sacrifices he had
to make to do so. A great product could be a business plan that I had made or making a
promotional video advertising my mock business.

I have read Pine Lakes ethics guide and understand that plagiarism, either intentional or
unintentional, will result in a zero on my paper.
