These acts of mass murder were intended to frighten our nation into chaos and
retreat. But they have failed. Our country is strong. A great people has been
moved to defend a great nation.
President George W. Bush on Sept. 11, 2001.
CNN --
Today, our fellow citizens, our way of life, our very freedom came under attack
in a series of deliberate and deadly terrorist acts.
The pictures of airplanes flying into buildings, fires burning, huge structures
collapsing, have filled us with disbelief, terrible sadness and a quiet, unyielding
anger.
These acts of mass murder were intended to frighten our nation into chaos and
retreat. But they have failed. Our country is strong. A great people has been
moved to defend a great nation.
Terrorist attacks can shake the foundations of our biggest buildings, but they
cannot touch the foundation of America. These acts shatter steel, but they
cannot dent the steel of American resolve.
America was targeted for attack because we're the brightest beacon for freedom
and opportunity in the world. And no one will keep that light from shining.
Today, our nation saw evil, the very worst of human nature, and we responded
with the best of America, with the daring of our rescue workers, with the caring
for strangers and neighbors who came to give blood and help in any way they
could.
Our first priority is to get help to those who have been injured and to take every
precaution to protect our citizens at home and around the world from further
attacks.
Our financial institutions remain strong, and the American economy will be
open for business as well.
The search is underway for those who are behind these evil acts. I've directed
the full resources for our intelligence and law enforcement communities to find
those responsible and bring them to justice. We will make no distinction
between the terrorists who committed these acts and those who harbor them.
America and our friends and allies join with all those who want peace and
security in the world and we stand together to win the war against terrorism.
Tonight I ask for your prayers for all those who grieve, for the children whose
worlds have been shattered, for all whose sense of safety and security has been
threatened. And I pray they will be comforted by a power greater than any of
us spoken through the ages in Psalm 23: "Even though I walk through the valley
of the shadow of death, I fear no evil, for You are with me."
This is a day when all Americans from every walk of life unite in our resolve for
justice and peace. America has stood down enemies before, and we will do so
this time.
None of us will ever forget this day, yet we go forward to defend freedom and
all that is good and just in our world.
At Ground Zero, the site of the World Trade Center destruction, rescue efforts
continued into the night. New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani was asked if
Arab-American or Muslim groups in New York might be targeted due to the
nature of the attacks.
RUDY GIULIANI: "Just the opposite. They will receive extra protection.
Nobody should engage in group blame. The particular individuals responsible,
the groups responsible, that's up to law enforcement, and it's up to the United
States government to figure out. And citizens of New York should -- even if they
have anger, which is understandable, and very, very strong emotions about this
-- it isn't their place to get involved in this. Then, they're just participating in the
kind of activity we've just witnessed, and New Yorkers are not like that."
And Giuliani spoke of the strength of the spirit of the people of his city.
RUDY GIULIANI: "People tonight should say a prayer for the people that we've
lost, and be grateful that we're all here. Tomorrow, New York is going to be
here, and we're going to rebuild, and we're going to be stronger than we were
before."

On September 11 2001, America felt its vulnerability even to threats that gather
on the other side of the Earth. We resolved then, and we are resolved today, to
confront every threat from any source that could bring sudden terror and
suffering to America.
President George W. Bush
The resolve of our great nation is being tested. But make no mistake, we will
show the world that we will pass the test.
President George W. Bush
We cannot let terrorists hold this nation hostile or hold our allies hostile.
President George W. Bush
Now, we have inscribed a new memory alongside those others. Its a memory
of tragedy and shock, of loss and mourning. But not only of loss and mourning.
Its also a memory of bravery and self-sacrifice, and the love that lays down its
life for a friendeven a friend whose name it never knew.
President George W. Bush
The attacks of September 11th were intended to break our spirit. Instead we
have emerged stronger and more unified. We feel renewed devotion to the
principles of political, economic and religious freedom, the rule of law and
respect for human life. We are more determined than ever to live our lives in
freedom.
Former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani
The attacks of 9/11 were intended to break our spirit. Instead we have emerged
stronger and more unified.
Rudy Giuliani
When people endure a traumatic event, they are either defeated or made
stronger. On Sept. 11, I told New Yorkers, 'I want you to emerge stronger from
this.' My words were partially a hope and partially an observation that people
in New York City handle big things better than little things. I could not be more
proud of the way my city responded.
Rudy Giuliani
Sept. 11, 2001 seems destined to be the watershed event of our lives and the
greatest test for our democracy in our lifetimes.
Lt. Col. Shelton F. Leskford
The attacks on the World Trade Center and the Pentagon shook our nation to
the core. Americans were deeply frightened, sad, and angry, and they rallied
around a President who, at the time, showed impressive certitude and calm.
Eliot Spitzer
September 11 impressed upon us that life is a precious gift. Every life has a
purpose. And I think we all have a duty to devote at least a small portion of our
daily lives to ensuring that neither America nor the world ever forgets
September 11.
Bill Frist
We emerged from the events of September 11 more steadfast in our beliefs, more
courageous in our actions and more determined to protect our values than ever
before.
Jane D. Hull
September 11, 2001, revealed heroism in ordinary people who might have gone
through their lives never called upon to demonstrate the extent of their courage.
Geraldine Brooks
We will win this strugglenot for glory, nor wealth, nor power, but for justice,
for freedom, and for peace so help us God.
Tom Harkin
Our flag honors those who have fought to protect it, and is a reminder of the
sacrifice of our nations founders and heroes. As the ultimate icon of Americas
storied history, the Stars and Stripes represents the very best of this nation.
Joe Barton
The view from my apartment was the World Trade Center and now it's gone.
They attacked it. This symbol of American ingenuity and strength and labor and
imagination and commerce and it is gone. But you know what the view is now?
The Statue of Liberty. The view from the south of Manhattan is now the Statue
of Liberty. You can't beat that.
Jon Stewart
Every time I come to New York, I remember how powerful the spirit of this city
is. Especially today. NYC, I love you.
Ellen DeGeneres
I may never be normal againbut this is my life now. I have to live it.
Manu Dhingra, in the World Trade Center on Sept. 11, 2001
For those who might question the reasoning and importance for re-examining
the [9/11] Commission's report, the events that led up to and the day of
September 11th, one only has to recall the enormous ramifications that the
attacks of September 11th have had on our country. ...[Only] an honest re-
evaluation of how the 9/11 attacks could have happened will allow us to reverse
the adverse consequences of overreaching laws and the existing loop holes in
our security systems in order to allow us to be safer in the future.
Lorie Van Auken.
Even the smallest act of service, the simplest act of kindness, is a way to honor
those we lost, a way to reclaim that spirit of unity that followed 9/11.
President Obama
The worst terrorist attack in American history also brought out the best in our
countryWe are United as Americans.
President Barack Obama
[An important thesis of her] - In the aftermath of September 11, and as the 9/11
Commission report so aptly demonstrates, it is clear that our intelligence system
is not working the way that it should.

In a late-night appearance in the East Room of the White House, Mr. Obama
declared that justice has been done as he disclosed that American military
and C.I.A. operatives had finally cornered Bin Laden, the leader of Al Qaeda,
who had eluded them for nearly a decade. American officials said Bin Laden
resisted and was shot in the head. He was later buried at sea.

The death of bin Laden marks the most significant achievement to date in our
nations effort to defeat Al Qaeda. Todays achievement is a testament to the
greatness of our country and the determination of the American people.
President Barack Obama, announcing bin Ladens death in East Room of the
White House ( May 1, 2011)
This momentous achievement marks a victory for America, for people who seek
peace around the world, and for all those who lost loved ones on September 11,
2001. The fight against terror goes on, but tonight America has sent an
unmistakable message: No matter how long it takes, justice will be done.
Former US President George W Bush
The world is a better and more just place now that Osama bin Laden is no longer
in it. I hope the families of the victims of the September 11th attacks will sleep
easier tonight and every night hence knowing that justice has been done.
Sen. John McCain ( May 2011)
Today, the message our forces have sent is clear if you attack the United
States, we will find you and bring you to justice.

11/S.
primeros minutos, nadie saba qu haba sucedido.
nunca lleg all.

I formulated a project for the CBTIS (Technological Industrial and of Services Center of
Bachelor Degree) 107 of Tuxtepec, Oaxaca, Mxico consisting in giving to the Library of this
Institution with five volumes of English language, of my authorship. A book for each semester,
from the first English book to fifth English book (according to the plan of studies in this regard
of the CBTIS). At no cost to the Institution, because this is a donation (in the staff, I solve my
expenses of the project with income of my employment as a professor that I would be in this
CBTIS).
One of the major advantages of this project is to solve the need of the student of
spending in books of English language because the books will be at your complete disposal into
the student community in the Library of the institution.
Afterward, in an immediate subsequent phase of this project is that among the student
community of this CBTIS and all the CBTIS of the United Mexican States will have these 5
volumes of English language by means of a page of Google; read it, neither cost nor restriction
to obtain them.
Well, as a last note, I must say that these books will have the format of 'workbook'.
This, as an intelligent work with foundations and then their respective exercises to resolve, into
a concurrent process. M.C. Enrique Ruiz Daz.
