Learning How to Change the Output of your Mac Book sound when connected to a TV via HDMI

PURPOSE For users wanting to see their computer screen on a larger platform with sound.

Carefully ensure each end of the


Step 1
HDMI wire is firmly inside the
devices (TV & Mac Book).

Initially when beginning this process, the user must first ensure each end of the HDMI wire is firmly inserted into
the intended port (HDMI).
This is to eliminate the chance of an issue occurring with the HDMI wire.

Note: some cords may have different ends such as the one used in the photos, which does not mean anything as long as
it connects as one HDMI wire.

Ensure the proper HDMI


port is identical to the

channel being displayed.

The proper HDMI port should have a name next to it as shown in the picture, which matches up to the input
source on the TV controls.
Step 3: From the home screen on your mac:

A. Click the Apple icon (top left).
B. Click on system preferences.

D. Under type look for HDMI, along with
the name associated with it.
