CALIBRATION

I/P TRANSDUCER

Calibration steps:

Step 1: remove the electronics module cover of I/P transducer and locate the terminals.

Step 2: connect the current generator with indicated milliammeter to the I/P transducer.

Step 3: Connect a pressure gauge to the output of I/P transducer.

Step 4: Connect the pressure calibrator to the I/P transducer and confirm that the supply
pressure is at least 20 psi.

Step 5: adjust the input current to the low mA DC value (ex. 4mA).

Step 6: Confirm that the output pressure of the I/P transducer is 3 psi. If not, locate and adjust
the zero adjustment potentiometer, which can be easily seen after removing the electronics
module, until the output pressure is 3 psi.

Step 7: adjust the input current to the high mA DC value (ex. 20mA).

Step 8: Confirm that the output pressure of the I/P transducer is 15 psi. If not, locate and adjust
the span adjustment potentiometer, which can be easily seen after removing the electronics
module, until the output pressure is 15 psi.

Step 9: repeat step 5 through 8 until the pressure in the I/P transducer is within the referenced
accuracy requirements by the manufacturer without further adjustment.

Step 10: and lastly, the I/P transducer is ready to be in operation.

RTD TEMPERATURE TRANSMITTER

Calibration steps:

Step 1: remove the electronics module cover of RTD temperature transmitter and locate the
terminals.

Step 2: connect the resistance decade box to the RTD temperature transmitter.
Step 3: connect a 24-volt power supply in series with the transmitter and milliammeter to the
transmitter.

Step 4: Determine the RTD resistance at the desired base (0 C) and full scale temperature.

Step 5: Turn the power supply on.

Step 6: Set resistance decade box to the resistance that corresponds to the desired base
temperature.

Step 7: Adjust the zero potentiometer of the transmitter until the output is 4mA.

Step 8: Set resistance decade box to the resistance that corresponds to the desired full scale
temperature.

Step 9: Adjust the span potentiometer of the transmitter until the output is 20mA.

Step 10: Repeat the step 6 through 9 until both 4 and 20mA readings are obtained without
readjusting span and zero potentiometers.

Step 11: and lastly, the Temperature transmitter is ready to be in operation.
