PlayPosit

Prompt: Write a reflection about how you could incorporate this in your classroom and whether you

liked the tool that you used.

I enjoyed the platform Play Posit which was required to use this week. I felt that it was

extremely easy to use and was user friendly. For me, the most important thing is to not feel

overwhelmed when using a new piece of technology. Prior to this class and assignment, I did not know

that an application could be used in this capacity. I believe that this could be revolutionary in my school

building especially at the upper grade levels. In this platform I used a video that I had recorded for

another assignment. I believe that when used together with a self-created video, this could be a

wonderful tool to assess student understanding. In addition, I like that this could be used on an iPad,

which is easy for my first-grade students.

Although I enjoyed this application and could see myself using this, I do not think I will use it

now. I believe that I could possibly use this in a few months. Throughout this course I have been using

the school iPad cart and using interactive media to assess my students. At the current moment, I believe

that my children can use this tool but would require more exposure to navigate the internet. I would

love to assess my students with this tool in correlation to a video I have created or a video I have
reviewed and is like my teaching style. In addition, I believe that this tool does not have the feature to

read questions and answer choices to students. For my 1st grade students this could pose a problem.

If I was a teacher at the 3rd or higher-grade level, I would use this in various subjects. I have not

explored if this is able to support mathematical equations, but I think this would be a powerful incentive

to engage students in boring math videos. As a first-grade teacher, I would use it sparingly, but will be

using it perhaps in March. I could see myself using this in Fundations, Journeys (Our reading program),

and the Spanish equivalents of Estrellitas and Tesoros de Lectura. During the winter break, I believe I will

explore my options with this tool regarding math. Many of my students have no excitement for math

due to how dense it is, but perhaps by incorporating this tool and a video my students will be more

motivated and excited.
