Some of you, no doubt heard of the hill 'Ayers

Rock' in Australia, a rock monolith which is supposedly the largest in the world. Or Hill 'Dark' is located
in the city of Sintang, West Kalimantan who allegedly were also said to be the world's largest monolith
stone, monolith is a single large stone. It turned out that this rock type also exist in Pekalongan, the
community around this rock, named by Watu Ireng (Black Stone).

Watu Ireng hill located in the village Lambur, Cage attacked, a hilly area Rogojembangan slopes.
This area is located approximately 20 Kilometers from Kajen-capital city of Pekalongan. Watu ireng hill
is quite broad, roughly around 2 hectares, and its height allows the expanse of green forest plantations
and Pekalongan southern part will be apparent to the eye. Like the other monolith stone, two-hectare
hill consists of a single solid stone, the stone is black and very hard. And interest on some of the top of

As in the other monolith hills, Nobody knows for sure, when and how, the process of formation
of this rock Ireng Watu. There are guesses that it Meteor stone monolith that fell to Earth thousands of
years ago, some are predicting that the stone monolith is identical and be a relic of the stone age
(Megalithic). However, a single large stone, even the ha's to be like the hill will lure people to wonder

Watu Ireng into a mysterious natural phenomenon, there is some folklore of the local
community with regard to this hill. One of them tells of cave with its mouth (the door) it is very narrow
there is a section on the hilltop Watu Ireng. It is said that according to the story surrounding
communities, this cave connects to the inside bottom (base) this rock, and in this cave saved a set of
gamelan and some uniformity. However, it seems only certain people (who in ridhoi) that can enter into

At the time of holidays, the place is quite crowded with people around Pekalongan even outside the
city, usually people come to satisfy the curiosity to watch a rock the size of two hectares this. On the
other hand, when it topped this rock, landscapes Kandangserang will spoil the eye. From the top of the
hill, as far as our eyes could see, be seen expanse of forests, pine plantations, rubber, and the green rice
fields. In the morning and evening, the hilltop is also suitable place to watch the beautiful sunrise and
sunset in the hills Rogojembangan.

friendly. In 2014, the government Pekalongan regency budget support funds to revitalize this object
