Underdamped: Oscillations continue for a while before coming to rest

Critically damped: System returns to its equilibrium point without overshooting
Overdamped: Like critical case but takes much longer to return to equilibrium point

Overdamped motion in which the oscillator is kicked

from the origin at t = O. It moves out to a maximum displacement and
