Performing Arts; Social Sciences; Business, Management, Marketing, and Related Support
Services; Liberal Arts and Sciences, General Studies and Humanities; and Health Professions
and Related Programs (U.S. News & World Report. usnews.com). Honors programs include the
Presidential Honors Society, Departmental Honors and Awards, Phi Beta Kappa, and Women in
Science at NYU. Every year, over 3,000 undergraduates study abroad in places like Berlin,
London, Paris, Buenos Aires, and Sydney. Students have tens of thousands internship
opportunities throughout the world that are available to them through NYU. NYU also offers
resume workshops, mock interviews, on-campus recruitment opportunities, and a database with
almost 40,000 job and internship listings. All of these great opportunities help students prepare
for a bright future.

Considering NYU is in the most popular city in the United States, students will have
plenty of activities to do and places to go. They are easily able to go to the Manhattan Mall
which is less than 2 miles away from the campus and there is a Whole Foods nearby, too.
Students could still have great times around the campus without having to spend money. They

New Museum is about 10 minutes away from campus walking. There are also free yoga classes
available to students if they would like to relax. The only charge is $2 to rent a mat but if they
already have one, its completely free. Students could go the High Line where they could look
over a great view of the city or they could ride bikes or just walk on the Brooklyn Bridge and
take in the great views of Manhattan. Every now and then, there will be a free showing for a
comedy show thats right by the campus, also. Students can even play with pets in Union
Square. PetCo brings pets that do not have homes to Union Square every day in hopes that
people will adopt but even if youre not adopting, everybody can play with them. They could go
to the Frederick Loewe Theatre and watch a musical, concert, or even an opera. At the end f the
day, students have a wide variety of restaurants around them to go to; the closest one being just
two minutes away(The SOCIETY19. society19.com).

NYU requires a CSS/Financial Aid profile, the free application for Federal Student Aid,
and if you are a resident, you also need the New York State Tuition Assistance Program. If you
are eligible for financial aid, NYU will tell you what your total financial aid package is.
Financial need-based scholarships require all financial aid applications turned in by the deadline,
which is November 15th 2017. All students are considered for the academic scholarship and do
not have to turn in a seperate application. Scholarship awards are given based on eligibility and
availability of funds.

For those interested in nursing, NYU offers a four-year Bachelor of Science that will help
prepare students to take the National Council Licensure Exam to get licensure. In the program,
you have to take arts and science courses but you also take nursing courses that progressively
teach knowledge and skill needed to address health needs in the future. The nursing courses
dont begin until junior year. These courses help students learn about their potential future
career by teaching me exactly what they need to know and what they will have to do for their
jobs.

NYU offers a great variety of varsity sport including baseball, basketball, cross country,
fencing, golf, soccer, softball, swimming and diving, tennis, track and field, volleyball, and
wrestling. There are also dozens of club sports to participate in including lacrosse, frisbee, and
karate and there are tons of clubs that any student could participate that embrace race, religion,
hobbies, and much more. Every semester, NYU has a Service and Volunteer Fair for the
students to interact and connect with nonprofit and community based organizations. Another fun
fundraising event is the 12-Hour Dance Marathon that is held every year. The 12-Hour Dance
Marathon raises thousands of dollars each year that is put towards the Andrew Mcdonough B+
Foundation which helps kids fight cancer

There are 22 residence halls and two graduate living communities which occupy about
12,000 students. On-campus housing is guaranteed for the students whole time at NYU as long
as they meet all housing application and payment deadlines and do not leave the school. Students
need to complete their housing applications and submit the $1000 housing reservation payment.
The annual housing rate could range from $8,040 to $21,428 depending on the hall that the
student lives in. Students also may or may not have a kitchen or need a meal plan based on the
residence hall that they live in. In order to be entered into the lottery process, students must
complete the online reapplication and room selection. Students could enter individually or as a
group consisting of no more than 4 people and then they are able to choose a room online by
whats currently available. Applicants have to create a group with a name and password to
request roommates and share the information with them. The group members would need to join
within two days and they would all have to be the same gender. Students are allowed to bring
bedding, linen, towels, personal items, cooking equipment, refrigerator, microwave, and other
room amenities. However, students are not allowed to bring furniture, air conditioners, candles,
drugs without a prescription, flammable decorations, halogen lamps, extension cords, pets, or
weapons including knives. If a student is convicted of alcohol or drugs, NYU would notify the
employer of the student,if any, and the students would not be able to participate in activities such
as clubs. If a student is in need of money, there is a total of 15 ATMs around the campus.

All first-year students that are living in residence halls have to have the 95 Flex meal plan
which costs $1,335 per semester and provides 6 meals per week. Upperclassmen are defaulted to
the BRKLYN 50 Flex which costs $1,004 per semester and provides 3 meals per week. There
are two dining halls which are the Palladium and Hayden and there is the Ben Snow Dining
Room. There are 16 overall places in NYU located throughout the campus that offer meals and
snacks to students. Some may open as early as 7:00 a.m. and dont close until 12:00 a.m. NYU
has a great variety of meal options; students could just grab a quick bite to go from the cafe or go
to a fancy restaurant that takes you around the world with food from different countries.

NYU is an amazing school to go to because it offers such a wide variety of academics

and lets students explore their options, helping them find what they want to do for their life.
