Recount Text is a text that tells about past event or experiences.

It used
Simple Past Tense or Past Continues Tense as their grammar. Its goal is to
entertaining or informing the reader.

Language Feature of Recount:

Introducing personal participant; I, my group, etc

Using chronological connection; then, first, etc

Using linking verb; was, were, saw, heard, etc

Using action verb; looked, went, changed, etc

Using simple past tense or past continues tense as action verb (verb 2)

The Structure of recount text consist of three parts :


1. Orientation : tells the readers who was involved in the story,what
happened,where the story took place,and when it happened.
("Orientation" menceritakan siapa saja yang terlibat dalam cerita, apa
yang terjadi, di mana tempat peristiwa terjadi, dan kapan terjadi
peristiwanya).
2. A series of events : tell the sequence of events. These events are
described in a chronological order. ("Event" menceritakan apa yang terjadi
(lagi) dan menceritakan urutan ceritanya).
3. Re-orientation : summarizes the event / consists of optional-closure of
events/ending. ("Reorientation" berisi penutup cerita / akhir cerita).
