Timbral Trills

A timbral trill is a trill between two notes of the same pitch. The fingering chart below gives the
simplest fingerings for each pitch, while the Alternative fingerings (including harmonics) can
also be used as extra fingering options, for different timbral inflections. The extra keys on the
quarter tone alto flute enable more timbral trills to be executed than on a standard flute. Notes
that cannot be used for timbral trills are shown below:
