Use the simplified procedure for the conventional configuration of single‐plate shear connections to check the adequacy 
of the following connection.

Beam:
Grade: A572, Gr. 50
Size: W27X94

Bolts:
Grade: A325 N STD Holes
8 0.875" dia. bolts

Plate:
Grade: A36
thickness: 0.375 in
 

  

  

Use the minimum specified edge distances and round the plate length (vertical dimension) up to the nearest inch.
