Lab 1, Activity 1, Task 1: Configure IIS on the ESMA Server

Internet Information Services (IIS), the Windows-native web server, is a Windows Server
role. Install it through the Server Manager dashboard.
Ensure that you are logged in to the server esmA.pan.aep as PAN\Administrator.
1. Launch Server Manager from the Start menu:
Start > Administrative Tools > Server Manager
2. Select Roles from the left column and on the right side, click Add Roles:

3. In the Add Roles Wizard, click in the Before You Begin window to open
the Select Server Roles window.
4. In the Select Server Roles window, check the Web Server (IIS) check box and then
click to open the Web Server (IIS) window:

5. In the Web Server (IIS) window, click to open the Select Role Services
window.
6. In the Select Role Services window leave the check boxes at their default settings.

7. Click and then to install Internet Information Services - IIS.


Installation may take several minutes to complete.
8. Examine the information in the Installation Results window.

9. Click , to close the installation results window. IIS now is installed with a
default configuration.
10. Click in the Server Manager window.
11. Confirm that the Web Service is running and listening on port 80 by launching
Chrome and browsing to localhost.

12. Close the Chrome browser window.
