Crime is always a headache social issue with policymaker in any nations on the world.

To
deal with the problem, some people claim that putting criminals in jail is the only way but
some other people argue that education and job training is more effective and should be
applied. In my point of views, education and job mentoring is better than imprisoning to
deal with the problem.

Particularly, although jail system has applied in the early ages but never prove itself as an
effective way to deal with criminal. It is clear that there are a high rate of criminals
reoffending after their times in jail. When offenders return to the communities without
education and job training, they will be unemployed and have no money to live.
Moreover, because of their imprison record, they are usually discriminated by other
people in the society. As a result, with the discrimination and unemployment, they are
easy to follow the beaten track and end their lives in criminal vicious circle.

Furthermore, although there are some prisoner who are too dangerous to release and
should be kept in jail, most of people commit crime because they did not receive a well-
education and adequate living conditions. Obviously, many of them are still in young age.
Because of poverty or broken family, they commit crime as the only way to blame for
their unlucky and keep them alive. In these cases, education and job mentoring is the best
way, not only helps them realize their mistake but also give them a hand to turn over a
new leaf. No one is totally bad. If the society provides sufficient condition, education and
kindness, they can rehabilitate, become good citizens and then contribute to community
to redeem their fault.

In conclusion, imprisonment and punishment is necessary but it is not effective solution

to resolve the root of criminal issue. Instead, education and job training is a better way to
deal with problem and should be offered to ensure safety for community.
