The Contractor shall provide for multiple gangs and suitable construction techniques, plant and equipment to comply. ‘The Contractor shall be charged Liquidated Damages at the rate stipulated in the ‘Appendix to the Conditions of Contract in the event the completion data is exceeded. Tem DESCRIPTION sen CO-ORDINATION WITH OTHER CONTRACTORS EMPLOYED ON THE SITE The Contractor shall work in close co-ordination and liaison with other Contractors appointed by the Employer who may, at one time or the other during the currency of this Contract be operating around and in the vicinity of the site. Take account of the ‘work programme of these other Contractors in the planning and programming of the Contract works ‘The Contractor shall, in particular, liaise with these other Contractor on matters of shared access, common secutity, Keeping roads, access ways and drains free of debris and mud, Co-ordinate all relaled work to minimise obstructions and hindrances. Agree and share the cost of maintenance of all roads and access ways, ‘0r other common facilities Any extension of time or extra cost claimed on the ground of lack of co-ordination between the parties or hindrance due to the presence of other contractors or due to shared access point with other contractor will not be considered. Remove, within one week of the Architect so instructing, all materials and rubbish thet are in the working areas of these other Contractors in order that their works ara not impeded. Allow for blinding the site with quarry dust, hardcore or other suitable material to facilitate movement of plant and machinery within the site including excavated areas. Appraise carefully all dificulies likely to be encountered due to the nature and character of the sit, INSPECTION OF SITE The Contractor shall inspect and examine the site and its surroundings and salisly himself as tothe nature and position of, means of communication with, access to and Security arrangements on the site, the oxient and nature of the Works, the nature of the ground and sub-sol, the types of material to be excavated, the material and goods necessary for completion of the Works, the facilities for placing and moving of material and plant, the accommodation he ‘may require and in general to have acquainted himself with all matters pertaining to risks, contingencies and all circumstances affecting the execution and completion of the Works. Keep photographic records If necessary. Seal off and protect, as directed by the Architect, all works, services and any other contents not affected by the works. PROTECTION OF EXISTING STRUCTURES Provide all necessary storing, propping and strutting for protecting existing structures during the commissioning of the demolition works. ADJOINING PROPERTIES ‘The adjoining sites incluce various buildings and structures and care must be taken to ‘ensure that no vibration or other disturbances shall affect the adjoining building and structures during the course of work The adjoining sites include various structures under construction and care must be taken to ensure that no vibration or other disturbances shall affect such construction Works during the course of building operations. Ensure that the security of adjacent property is not lessened due to work activities. ‘Take measures to prevent trespass from adjoining properties. ‘Should there be any danger of possible damage to adjacent buildings or structures {due to the method of operations, excavation works or the methods of construction ‘adopted, the Contractor must arrange with the neighbouring owners and obtain their ‘agreement on the measures he would adopt to shore up, underpin, support and make safe such adjacent properties. Make constant checks on the structural soundness of neighbouring properties and take necessary protective measures. Damages or other disturbances cause to the adjoining buildings and structures shall be made good to the satisfaction of the Architect. Pay for any compensation claimed. Make every effort to reduce noise, vibration, dust or any other interference that may be caused by the Works. APPROVED EQUIVALENT Where the term “approved equivalent” Is appended to specification ciauses or ‘descriptions in the Bills for materials or components to be incorporated into the works, It shall mean materials and components of equal or better quality, standards, manufacture and capable of performing in all respects to specified requirements, subject always to the approval of the Architect. Where equivalents are offered, the Contractor shall submit relevant details with their tenders. P.C. RATED ITEMS ‘The Architect shall, at his discretion, invite quotations for supply of materials or goods for which P.C. rates of supply have been included in these Bills of Quantities. The ‘Contractor shall accept any person or persons selected by the Architect for the supply of these materials or goods, ‘The Contractor shall be required to enter into a Direct Supply Agreement with the selected supplier based on the agreed prices, terms and conditions. The Contractor shall order sufficient extra quantities in each case to cater for all breakages, wastages, ete. Prior execution of the Direct Supply Contract, work out and agree with the Suppliar the supply and dalvery schedule, including the total quantities required for the works. ‘The quantities given In these Bills for diferent typas of materials or goods are measured nett from the Drawings in accordance with the Standard Method of Measurement, and payment shall be made on nett quantiies as laid and measured from final as-built Drawings. ‘The P.C. rates for the supply of materials or goods will be adjusted against the actual ‘cost of the selected materials or goods (after deducting al trade discount) supplied and delivered to site by the Nominated Suppliers. Report any missing drawings, documents, pages or other lscropancies to the Architect. No claims for extta costs consequent upon non- ‘examination of tender documents and drawings will be considered, Before commencing on any portion of the Works, the Contractor shall check and verify all detalls and cimensions shown in the drawings and shall immediately notify the Architect of any discrepancy within a reasonable period for the Architect 10 respond and for Contractor to construct. Obtain clear instruction on the correct dotails and dimensions. ‘Any delay on the part of the contractor to inform the Architect of any discrepancy, etc. that causes delay in the construction of the Works, no extension of time shall be entertained. DIMENSIONS. Figured dimensions on the drawings shall be followed in all cases. Where dimensions are omitted or in doubt, seek clarification from the Architect. NEGLECT TO OBTAIN RELIABLE INFORMATION it wil be assumed that adequate information had been given to the Contractor for due ‘and proper performance of all works under this Contract. The Contractor shall submit writen request to the Architect for any adltional information he may require Any negligence or failure on the part of the Contractor in obtaining reliable information pertaining to any matter which may affect the proper execution and completion of the ‘Works shall not relleve him of his liabiliies or responsibltes in executing, completing land handing over Contract. DISCREPANCIES IN CONTRACT DOCUMENTS, ‘The several documents (including the drawings) forming the Contract are to be taken ‘as mutually explanatory of one another. Immediately report any discrepancy to the Architect, and await further instructions before proceeding with the Works.
