The main problem that our company face is that the company can’t complete certain projects on time.

There are many reasons for our projects to be delayed. Among them are lack of skilled contractors (Our
project is the first IBS project to be implemented throughout Ethiopia.), Lack of materials (Ethiotelecom
provide some materials by itself, such as PVC trunk; Procuring materials can take a more than a month.).
Our project includes regional states. Therefore, depending on the security situation on those cities our
project is delayed. Because this project took more than a year and half, many of the staff members who
has deep knowledge about this project have left the company. Therefore, we have to hire new
engineers and train them everything (By everything means, site survey, design, material delivery,
configuration, commission and PAT/ICR). Until the new engineers are capable of doing everything by
themselves, there is a huge work load on senior members. The scope of the project is big, because the
project consists of 370 sites in Addis Ababa and regional cities. This is tough to handle. Because there
are so many issues. You have to convince building owners about the importance of this project. Delivery
schedule isn’t always will be followed according to our plan. Delivery is controlled by Ethiotelecom
because regional material delivery is their responsibility.
