All you need is cinnamon, honey and water! You need 2 tablespoons of honey and 1 tablespoon of cinnamon for a cup of water. It’s so simple! Bring
everything to boil and simmer until it becomes smooth. Let it cool down or drink it warm. I prefer using raw honey and to grind the cinnamon stick
myself to get fresh cinnamon powder. Enjoy!

I(/user/naturelady)
was diagnosed as diabetic years ago but didn't do diabetic meds, so next checkup my doctor classed me as diet-controlled diabetic because
my A1c stays within range. I have been taking the cinnamon/honey paste for about a year now. I have not had a problem with having the
honey included with the cinnamon. Cinnamon is supposed to help lower blood sugar and I also use raw tupelo honey in making my cinnamon
paste. I have started using Ceylon cinnamon. I have read several times over the years that tupelo honey enters the blood stream slower than
other honeys, whether true or not I do not know. I just know I have no problem when I have a tablespoonful of the honey/cinnamon paste on
Ezekiel bread toast every morning along with 2-3 tablespoons of virgin coconut oil. I have noticed over the years that my energy level is higher
when I take the coconut oil in the morning.

Really? I thought that the natural sugar in the honey married with the cinnamons ability to help the pancreas create insulin that diabetics
(/user/tdaisy77)
should be able to take it with the honey. Like the honey increases need for insulin and activates system and the cinnamon stimulates it to
create insulin.. makes since cuz I've always thought that cinnamon, even go its not a sweetener seems to always make things taste sweeter. So
like it increases the sweetness of the sugar without actually increasing the sugar. (I'm a bit sleepy. I hope I got this explained right.) Nite

There is some promising research studies going on and there is no doubt that some foods are medicine and very helpful in treating certain
health conditions.

Indian spices used in curry and some herbs are noted for helping the respiratory system and many other health issues too. However I feel its
always best to be aware of the cautions, so I list below a couple of links about these.

I'm also a diabetic so I thought I'd give a little advice on this. Cinnamon has been proven to control blood sugar level as it increases your ability
(/user/BookWorm5683)
to use insulin. I take a cinnamon supplement twice a day to help prevent high blood sugar. On the other hand, if you nd you're prone to
having lows then cinnamon may not be a good idea. As for honey, it can be done but it depends on your particular situation. The best thing to
do would be to ask your doctor if this is safe for you. Good luck!

tend to believe that also, especially, after reading an impartial report that the Medical Association is pressuring, successfully I might
add, the FDA not to approve some biomedical cures for many, many diseases. Because then these cures would costthe medical

successfully tried these remedies and then see for myself. That's what I am starting to do todsy, use cinnamon for my Type 2 diabetes.
My friend says it's working for him. I believe him because he is not the type to lie nor exaggerate. Joe Roybal is his name from Toppenish,

Ceylon cinnamon is a native Sri Lankan product. The sticks are made with thin layers wrap together like cigar. It is easy to break.
(/user/True_Ceylon_Spices)
Cassia contains a single layer of thick bark. It is hard and not easy to break as Ceylon cinnamon. Cassia is always cheaper than Ceylon
cinnamon.

The cinnamon in the market which labeled as 'Cinnamon' probably be a Cassia cinnamon. Ceylon cinnamon is named as Ceylon cinnamon,
pure cinnamon, true cinnamon or its scienti c name Cinnamomum zeylanicum syn. Cinnamomum verum also used.

It is di cult to identify the true product in powder form. Buy it from a trusted seller. If you buy cinnamon powder from Sri Lanka, it never be a
cassia.

NaturalHealthNut (/user/NaturalHealthNut)  4 years ago

When my granddaughter had a bad cold & cough, a friend recommended 1 tsp of cinnamon in hot water with honey to sweeten: my
(/user/NaturalHealthNut)
granddaughter hated the taste, but the cough stopped and the stu ness cleared up (for a while). She wouldn't take it a 2nd time, so it wasn't
really a good test.

But a few days ago I was suddenly taken with a REALLY BAD cold--bad enough that I felt dreadfully sick. Coughing and all stu ed up, sinus
headache, malaise, drippy nose--the whole nine yards!! I eat a high protein, low carb diet and avoid sugar in any form, so I couldn't have the
honey, but I put a teaspoon of cinnamon in my morning puerh tea--and it worked! I felt less stu y and stopped coughing (for a while). I repeated
at lunch and it worked again for a couple of hours, and I repeated at dinner and it worked again for the evening. The next morning I felt much
better--not totally well, but much better. So I repeated the treatment for a 2nd day and I totally lost the headache and had the cough under
control. The third day I knew I was well on the way to being better, and could go back to normal life. Today is day 5, and except for coughing up a
little phlegm when I rst woke up, I am recovered.

Along the way, I have discovered that it tastes better if I use a strong tea like puerh or strong oolong; white or green teas are overwhelmed by the
cinnamon avor and seem bitter. And just a bit of unsweetened cocoa with a drop of Stevia can smooth the avor and make a "dessert"-like
addition.

Cinnamon comes from Indonesia (Korintje cinnamon) , China (Cassia cinnamon), Vietnam(Saigon cinnamon) and Sri Lanka. Cinnamon comes
(/user/True_Ceylon_Spices)
from Sri Lanka is known as Ceylon cinnamon. Others (Korintje , Cassia and Saigon) are cassia varieties.

The risk is coumarin. It creates bad health e ects in longer use. Cassia varieties contain more coumarin than ceylon cinnamon. The coumarin
content in Ceylon cinnamon is negligible and does not harm in longer use.

When used for medicinal purposes there are a few important factors ...
(/user/Mary_P)
Use alkaline water, organic Ceylon cinnamon, and for best results manuka honey (raw, un ltered, and unprocessed). Never boil the honey, it's
best added after. Slightly below boiling temperature is ne. When making the tea, put cinnamon in a container, add the water after bringing to a
boil. Allow to steep, preferably 2-3 hours. It can be reheated when ready to drink, then add the honey.

When making the paste, use organic Ceylon cinnamon and Manuka honey. Depending on how it's used, can be mixed with organic raw,
unprocessed coconut oil. This oil is not in liquid form, it's solid and whitish in color.
