I Have A Dream Rhetorical Strategies SPES

Rhetorical strategies influenced Dr. King's speech by giving him the ability to speak more

emotionally to his crowd, and helping him reach his goal of sharing his views with a larger and

more diverse audience. He uses the strategy of inclusion to help him reach out to not only the

negro community, but many different groups, such as the white community and religious groups

like the Jews and the Protestants, who he considered all to be equal. He also uses charged words

to convey his raw emotion to the people to help them understand how he feels. These strategies

were the key point in changing people's minds and needed to be as strong as possible to rally the

most people. They also helped him emotionally relate to the struggles of all of the people who he

had protested with and was speaking to in his speech. His use of Rhetoric helped all of america

hear and understand his ideas about american society and its future. Therefore, these strategies

have a great impact of his speech because of their ability to improve the range of people he

reaches and how he impacts them emotionally.
