GUIDELINES ON THE USE OF THE IMPORT COMMODITY CLEARANCE (ICC) MARK

1. OBJECTIVE

1.1. To ensure that the use and display of the Import Commodity Clearance (ICC) Mark shall
be regulated in the interest of the consumers.

1.2. To establish that the ICC mark shall be allowed for exhibition and use and that it will be
carried out in an effective manner.

2. SCOPE

2.1. This guidelines applies to all ICC certified companies.

3. RESPONSIBILITIES

3.1. The Bureau of Product Standards, together with concerned DTI Regional/Provincial
Offices shall be responsible in ensuring that the objectives of this guidelines are
effectively implemented.

3.2. The ICC Mark Certificate holder shall be responsible for the implementation of this
guidelines

3.3. The licensee shall also be liable if DAO 5:2008 and DAO 2:2007 are breached.

4. ACTIVITY DESCRIPTIONS

4.1. The Licensee shall inform its client of the particulars of the ICC Certificate.

4.2. The Licensee shall use the design of the ICC Mark in accordance with the illustration in
Annex 1 of DAO 5:2008.

4.3. The Licensee shall use the ICC Certificate/ Mark only for products which are compliant to
a specific requirement of Philippine National Standard.

4.4. The Licensee shall affix the ICC Mark on the product covered by the Certificate. In case
marking or sticking of the ICC Mark on the product is not possible, the Mark shall appear
on the package of the product.

4.5. The ICC license number may be placed below the logo including the batch/ serial
number of the product.

4.6. The Licensee shall not use the ICC Mark on a product covered by the certificate in any
misleading manner.

4.7. The Licensee shall not use the ICC Mark or Certificate if the specific imported product’s
application has been denied or did not comply with the requirements of the specific
standard.

4.8. The licensee shall be dealt with by suitable legal actions if he/she incorrectly make
reference to the certification system or make use of the certificate or mark in a
misleading manner in advertisements, catalogues, etc.
