Steps to Setup Performance Manager

1. Make sure LabVIEW is open.


2. Click on the Start Menu and select the Run Command.
3. Type perfmon into the Run command prompt and click OK.

4. You will then see the Performance Window pop up.


5. Click on the + sign next to Performance Logs and Alerts.
6. Right-click on Counter Logs and select New Log Settings…
7. Type in any name for the New Log Settings window and select OK (for example, Test1). This will
bring up a new window.

8. In the Test1 window, click on the Add Counters… button.


9. In the Add Counters window, select Process from the drop-down menu of the Performance
Object.
10. There should be two lists. For the list on the left, select the following: % Processor Time, Handle
Count, Private Bytes and Thread Count. You can select multiple choices by holding down the
Ctrl Key when selecting.
11. For the list of the right, select LabVIEW.

12. Click on the Add button below the lists and then click Close.
13. Back in the Test1 window, select the Log Files tab. In this tab, change the Log file type to Text
File (Tab delimited) from the drop-down menu.
14. Click on the General tab again and change the Interval to 1 and make sure the units are seconds.
15. Click on the Apply Button at the bottom of the window and then select the OK button.
16. You should be all set to monitor the performance of the application until the error occurs.
