Tuesday, October 17: First rehearsal for senior play


 Went over rules
 Received roles
Wednesday, October 18: Met with Don Cristian about play discussed auditions and plans for
rehearsals
Thursday, October 19: Second rehearsal for senior play
 read through of script
Thursday, October 24: Third Rehearsal for senior play
 Character development exercises: how would your character walk/act on a good or bad
day
 Meredith (my character) has depression so each day has around the same amount of
energy and emotion
Wednesday, October 25: Auditions/casting process. 15 students auditioned and casted all and
put them in their best fit roles
 Asked then name, grade and the scene they are preforming
 Watched audition, studied and took notes on each scene
 Thanked then and told them good job and asked if they had any questions
Thursday, October 26: Began research paper first couple paragraphs
Friday, October 27: First rehearsal (Don Christian)
 Go through rules and expectations for each actor and rehearsal
 Have an acting warm up activity (theatre sports) (death in one minute)
 Give out roles
 Go over line adjustments
Monday, October 30: Second rehearsal (Don Christian)
 Attendance
 Warm up activity (death in one minute)
 Read through
 Make character accommodations/switches
 Plan blocking for first scene
 Plan activity for next day
Tuesday, October 31: Fourth rehearsal for the senior play
 Started blocking script
 Tried different entrances
 Tried different ways of presenting each line
 Worked on the first and second page of the script
Monday, November 6: Third rehearsal (Don Cristian)
 Went over new schedule
 Handed out schedule and newsletter
 Warm up activity (typewriter)
 Went over most of scene one
 Adjusted lines (dropped out character)
Blocking: upside down V shaped (Kristen and Gavin on ends and Reese behind them in the
middle) Five on each side not including Reese (Cindy) Then they go into tableau: four eating,
two playing with toys + Cindy, four spread out around the stage preparing for Christmas. Grinch
on the side. Narrator in chair and book. Max not needed in this point of blocking but will enter
near the end of the scene.

Wednesday, November 8: Fourth rehearsal (Don Cristian)


 Reviewed first part of scene one
 Completed scene one
 Perfected (mostly) blocking
No scene two because absence of Max. Semi-circle for Whos hold hands and sway until said
otherwise. Make sure they understand the meaning of tableau.
 Played two games at the end (extra time) typewriter and death in one minute

Saturday, November 11: Complete Research paper

Thursday, November 16: Talked to Ms. Bunyan about roles


 Interviewed her about the crew aspect of theatre

Monday, November 20: Don Christian Rehearsal


 Finished 3.5/4 of blocking
o Did scenes 1,2,4 and blocked 3 with Cindy and The Grinch
 Practiced scenes 1 and 2 during rehearsals and started blocking scene 2 with whole cast
 Cast worked extremely well very cooperative
 Rewarded with games with remaining time of rehearsal
Tuesday, November 21: Lord Tweedsmuir Rehearsal
 Completed blocking
 Memorized lines
 Director assigned a few actors to work on characters on an extra day (Nov. 22)\

Thursday, November 23: Lord Tweedsmuir Rehearsal


 First full run through of play
 SOS
 Changed beginning scene

Monday, December 4: Don Christian Rehearsal


 Past two rehearsals were run through several times and so is this one
 Go through at least twice to prepare for SOS
 If any actors need help to let us know before Friday (SOS day)
 New lines to some of the actors (Don’t need to be memorized by Friday)
2: Extra Practice Lord Tweedsmuir play
 Go through monologue and add extra
 Last week of rehearsals (Performance: December 7, 2017)

Thursday, December 7: Lord Tweedsmuir Show Night


 First, an after school dress rehearsal (smooth)
 Director finished job after last rehearsal
 Pre-show ritual
 Italian run through of monologues
 Show!
 Clean up and see audience

Friday, December 8: Don Christian SOS


 Sit and run through of the play to check memorization (if good they get a treat next
rehearsal)
 Start song
Monday, December 11: Don Christian Rehearsal
 First run through including blocking
 Give Kai script and notes
 Show dates will be December 21 and 22
 Talked about props and costumes (part 2)
 Dropped a role
Notes: Rough run through. Many forgot their lines although for the most part it was clean and
with the addition of the song it went pretty well.

Friday, December 15: Don Christian Rehearsal


 Go through at least twice
 First time practicing in the gym (their stage)
 First time practicing with props and hopefully costumes

Monday, December 18: Don Christian Rehearsal (FINAL WEEK)


 Run through two times
 Notes (x2)
 Game
 Bring ALL costumes and props by next rehearsal
 Told Sarah about play back up plan

Tuesday, December 19: Don Christian Rehearsal (FINAL FULL REHEARSAL)


 Go through as many times as we can
 All props and costumes should be brought (NO ACCEPTIONS)
 Game only if runs are smooth
 Go through bows

Thursday, December 21: Don Christian Dress Rehearsal


 Set up
 Go through as many times as we can
 Make sure to have an extra garbage bag and bring trash can from Ms. Bunyan
 Talk about preshow etiquette

o Try not to laugh
o If a line is forgotten do not break character
o If you draw a complete blank Sarah will say the line
