Letter of Recommendation

I know Mr. Subramanian Anand Swaminathan for the past four years in the
capacity of the faculty Dean of Agricultural Engineering.

From my colleagues, I learnt that the candidate under consideration is a studious

and conscientious during his student days. His persistent attitude towards his academic
work deserves, I believe, consideration of the admission committee for favor of
admission and assistantship.

The candidate is determined to become a researcher and his commitment towards

this objective is obvious from his OGPA of 9.17/10.0 which he has been maintaining
consistently till fourth semester as well as from his GRE score of 2040. His work on
“Extraction of Food Colorant from Marigold ( Tagetus erecta )” is commendable.

Anand’s extracurricular activities are worth mentioning. He has won the Inter
Collegiate Table Tennis championship twice and has represented Tamilnadu Agricultural
University in All India Inter Agricultural University Sports meet as the captain of the
team. He has won lot of prizes to his credit. He has been a member of the winning team
in Mime, Skit and One Act Play in Inter Collegiate Cultural Festival. He has represented
TNAU in South Zone Inter University Youth Festival Organized by Association of Indian
Universities.

A candidate with good reading, writing and communication skills, I trust Mr.
Anand will fulfill the academic expectations of your esteemed faculty. I am sure that
with the guidance and expertise of your renowned graduate school, he will be able to
develop independent school of thought and judgment towards the processing and
preservation of food products for the betterment of the industry in India.

Mr. Anand is very intelligent and hard working and I categorize him among the
top 5% of the students I have come across.
