North Shore Agency-Lead programmer Analyst 10/2001 - 11/2007


Responsible for analysis and programming of collection and billing letters for various clients.
Conversion of client data to in-house system. Used COBOL, CICS, VSAM. Conversion from PC,
transmission files, tapes to mainframe.

Guardian Life Insurance- Senior Project Manager 10/1998 -09/2001


Responsible for Re-engineering plan for Disability Insurance Systems. Includes selection of
software, training of staff, hiring consultants, designing approaches, and managing the projects as well as
day-to-day current system operation. Managing staff of 6. Current systems are COBOL/IMS/VSAM with
DB2 query system. Pilot systems using VB front-end, ORACLE, Mainframe messages to LOTUS
Notes, and use of Merant MFE etc. to develop mainframe COBOL/CICS/IMS/DB2 (using UDB)
programs on PC platform. Prototyping Web access to mainframe systems.

Merrill-Lynch - Consultant Team Leader 1996 - 1998


Responsible for a team of 15 programmers collecting, verifying, renovating and testing systems
to ensure year 2000 compliance. As a Year 2000 Team Leader, I was responsible for upgrading systems
in the capital markets area to year 2000 compliance. We used ENDEVOR to inventory systems,
Microfocus REVOLVE for analysis, and PERITUS for the code change.

Methodist Hospital/NY Hospital Network- Manager 1994-1996


Responsible for upgrading code to same level as Network Hospital, moving of systems from
hospital to network data center. Testing of system to ensure compliance with network standards and
moving hospital systems from stand-alone platforms to part of network systems. Managed staff of 12.

Guardian Life Insurance - Technical Consultant 1992-1994


Responsible for replacement of in-house billing system with vendor product (COBOL/VSAM/IMS) and
development of systems to provide interfaces to other Guardian systems and managing project for EFT
funds transfer from banking systems to new billing system.

Mount Sinai Hospital Manager Clinical information Systems 1988-1992

Responsible for replacing existing Patient management and Billing System with new vendor
supplied system (COBOL/CICS/IMS). Worked on system from vendor contract to production
implementation. Installed CICS/IMS at Time Share site for training, installed first IMS system at
hospital. Managed staff of 15 in implementing all phases of system and developing all interfaces and
reporting systems. Supported hospital development of other systems using patient data and training of
users on new system.
Independent Consultant Asbach Inc. 1973-1988

Client: Manufacturers Hanover Bank 2/85 - 3/88


Performed analysis to rate packages performing service order, inventory, and allocation
functions for corporate telecommunications department. Duties included writing of functional
requirements, data modeling, data base design, and analysis and rating of 40+ packages. Upon selection
of package, designed a CICS front-end and wrote several on-line programs, while preparing specs for the
rest.
Client: SIAC 6/82 - 2/85
Worked on the conversion of a billing/inventory system from batch TOTAL database to
CICS/IMS. Upon completion designed the database (IMS) for a second exchange and managed the
project to convert that exchange from batch to online.
Client: Manufacturers Hanover Bank 6/81 - 5/82
Project leader for the development of a system to handle commercial loans. System was
CICS/COBOL and used IBM’s DMS/CICS.
Client: SIAC 6/73 - 6/81
Development of inventory and billing system for NY Futures Exchange.
Conversion of NYSE billing and inventory systems from quarterly to monthly.
