Imaging the Distribution of Rocks in the Former Excavation Site Duplang Using Geo-Electrical

Resistivity Method

Jember Regency is an area considered as an ancient civilization in Eastern Java, based on archaeological aspect. One
of the proofs of ancient civilization is Duplang Site in Kamal Village, Arjasa District, which is believed of having a
high historical value. There have been found many artifacts from megalithic era made from andesite rocks with
rough sides. The aim of this research is to find out the bottom surface structure of the area where Dolmen and
human skeletons were found. Further, it seems that there are still many undetected artifacts buried in this area. It is
proved by the existence of some outcrops. The method used in this research is the geoelectrical resistivity with
Wenner configuration. The measurement data are in the form of Electric current (I) and Potential (V) which are then
processed by using the Res2Dinv software. The results of analysis and interpretation of data on line 1 show that
resistivity anomaly is (135-672) Ωm at the measurement point of (2-4) meters, (7-8) meters, (8-20) meters, (22-25)
meters and (27-28) meters with a depth of about (0.25-5.23) meters at elevation of (350-352) meters, which are
suspected as the andesite stone (part of excavated dolmen rock). Line 2 reports that resistivity value is (122-591)
Ωmeters at the measurement point of (1-17) meters and (19-25) meters with a depth ranging from 0.25 to 3.46
meters at an elevation of (346-352) meters, which are suspected as the andesite stone. Based on the resistivity result
of both lines, the andesite stones are still quite abundant in areas where excavation had been conducted.
