Daya yang diinputkan ke propeller dari sistem perporosan atau daya yang dihantarkan oleh

Wake friction atau arus ikut merupakan perbandingan antara kecepatan kapal

Adalah open water efficiency yaitu efficiency dari propeller pada saat dilakukan open water
test. Nilainya antara 40-70%, dan diambil :

Maka daya pada tabung poros baling-baling dihitung dari perbandingan antara daya efektif

3. Shaft Horse Power (SHP)


Untuk kapal yang kamar mesinnya terletak di bagian belakang akan mengalami losses
sebesar 2%, sedangkan pada kapal yang kamar mesinnya pada daerah midship kapal
mengalami losses sebesar 3%.(“Principal of Naval Architecture hal 131”). Pada perencanaan
ini, kamar mesin terletak dibagian belakang, sehingga losses yang terjadi hanya 2%

Perhitungan Kavitasi
Perhitungan kavitasi perlu dilakukan dengan tujuan untuk memastikan suatu propeller bebas dari
kavitasi yang menyebabkan kerusakan fatal terhadap propeller. Perhitungan kavitasi ini dihitung
dengan menggunakan Diagram Burril’s.

1. Menentukan nilai σ0,7R terlebih dahulu

Dimana :
h = Jarak antara Center poros dengan sarat
= 4.5 m diperoleh dari gambar lines plan
Nilai σ0,7R ini digunakan untuk mengetahui nilai angka kavitasi pada diagram
burrill dipotongkan dengan kurva merchant ship propeller.
