The musicians of the Russian National Orchestra

are among the best in Russia today. This singularity
is all the more evident when they come together as
chamber musicians in one of the RNO’s many
ensembles. Several are profiled here.
RNO String Quartet
The RNO String Quartet is recognized for its
virtuosic performances of the quartet literature
of Mozart, Beethoven, Schubert, Brahms and
Tchaikovsky, as well as of contemporary
composers. It is also praised for performing
rarely heard works, including the chamber music
of Sergei Taneyev. The RNO String Quartet
appears at festivals and chamber series in
Russia, Europe and the United States.
