1. The dataset given in file BAPGPXQ1-1 relates to a sample of model

2011 cars collected from an online information service. (a) How does
fuel efficiency (as highway mpg) relate to cost (MSRP)? Describe the
relationship. (b) Build a linear regression model with fuel efficiency
as response and MSRP as predictor variable (c) Use the model to
examine if more expensive cars are generally more fuel efficient.
2. The dataset given in file BAPGPXQ1-2 relates to measurements of
250 men of various ages. The percent of a man’s body that is fat
(Pct.BF) is a matter of concern for health and fitness. But the Pct.BF
is difficult and expensive to measure accurately. (a) Build a model to
predict the Pct.BF from other, more easily made, measurements? (b)
Comment on the predictive accuracy of your model (c) Write a note
of 100 words explaining the model to common people.
3. The dataset given in file BAPGPXQ1-3 provides information about a
large number of graduate programmes in USA. (a) Build a linear
regression model to predict the graduate student earning (Earn)
based on the available predictors. (b) Comment on the predictive
accuracy of the model built by you. (c) Predict the expected
earning of a graduate student having SAT score of 1360 and ACT
score of 32 studying in a Public University? Give reason for your
answer.
