In some countries, employers are able to fire an employee without giving an any reason

for dismissal. The entrepreneurs say that this is good for the national economy, because,

according to them, it is easier to hire more employees if the dismissal has fewer

obstacles. However, actually, they mean that it is cheaper for them to fire the

employees.

On the other hand, employees say that their rights are not being respected because they

have been became in work products, instead of being considered as workers.

I think this is one of the main threats for the workers. If the employers are able to fire

somebody without any reason, the salary of the worker will decrease, even if the profits

of the companies increase. Also, employers could require their employees more working

hours for the same salary, because if the workers don’t accept it, the employers could

fire them and hire others.

Despite this, it seems that free dismissal tends to prevail in most countries. Surely, in the

future we will see how the workers will try to oppose him, which will generate a great

labour conflict.

In summary, I consider that free dismissal is detrimental to workers, who lose their

rights in favour of employers.
