STATE OF HAWAII DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION PRINCE JONAH KUHIO KALANIANAOLE: ELEMENTARY & INTERMEDIATE SCHOOL, January 19, 2018 Dear Faculty, Staff’ and Parents: The Asbestos Hazard Emergency Response Act (AHERA) requires our school to notify faculty, staff, and parents of the presence and status of asbestos containing materials in our school buildings. The law further requires a management plan based on the findings of the initial inspection. We had the required six months surveillance on December 7, 2017 and will complete the next surveillance on June 30, 2018. The results of the recently completed surveillance indicate there were no changes to the conditions of asbestos on the campus. A copy of the inspection report and the Asbestos Management Plan is available for your review in our office during normal business hours. Sincerely, Lindsay Miyashiro Vice Principal ‘AN AFFIRMATIVE ACTION AND EQUAL OPPORTUNITY EMPLOYER
