Industrial Revolution of the 1800’s

Project

Choose one of the options below. Each topic should include:

WHO invented it? WHEN was it invented? WHERE it was invented? WHAT impact this
invention had on America’s history and PICTURE of invention.

1. Create an advertisement for an invention as it would appear in print publication at the


time of its creation

2. Create written proposal to the Invention Hall of Fame Board of Directors concerning the
induction of an invention of your choice

3. Investigative newspaper assignment announcing new invention ready to be unveiled

4. Technical. Many inventions were created during the Industrial Revolution. Select 3
inventions and create instructional/user manuals for the inventions.

The following options would not necessarily follow the who, what, when etc… from above. Be specific w content
relating to the Industrial Revolution and impact on society.

5. Photo Essay. Find pictures of working conditions during the industrial revolution age
(1800s) and photos from our current time. Photos can show child labor, factories,
housing, etc. Put them together in a collage using multimedia. Examples might be a
PowerPoint. Minimum of 10 pictures. Include captions with your pictures to provide
descriptions of the images.

6. Health. Poor and crowded living conditions during the Industrial Revolution led to the
spread of many illnesses, including cholera. Research the causes, symptoms, and
treatments for cholera. Then, create a public service campaign to educate the masses
about the illness. This can include posters, brochures, commercials, etc. (audience is
factory workers of the 1800’s)

 Bibliography needed of sources used. Use a minimum of 2 sources.
