ETAP can be installed in silent mode. This means that there are no dialogs or user interaction, beyond starting the
install process. To do this requires the use of a response file. A response file provides the answers to the dialogs
normally shown to the user. A response file can be created by running the setup.exe with the /r command. A
location to create the response file can optionally be added. If the location is not specified the response file will be
created in the Windows or WINNT folder (depending on which operating system is being run). From the Run
command type:
Use the /s flag to run the installation in silent mode using the response file. Once again, the /f1 flag is optional
depending on if the response file will be run from the Windows/WINNT folder or from another location.
Lastly, a log file is created when using either the /r or /s flag. The log file will also be placed in the Windows or
WINNT unless it is specified with the /f2 flag.
